Exactly. That should give me time to get the heck out of there.

Wow he was pissed, but also those riders were being idiots.

I've gotten lost trail riding many times and run into angry landowners. You have to remember that you are on their land and respecting that is more important than finding where the trail continues. Any time I've run into a situation like this it's best to just apologize and turn around. Most of the time they will point you in the right direction, but never ever just continue to ride through their land if they are telling you to get off (especially in Texas). That's a quick way to get yourself shot, or at the very least give a poor impression of motorcycle riders.

That was funny but not smart at all.

Looked like the rider was doing everything right to me. The landowner was definitely being irrational. I've run in to some farmer's property on accident. Sometimes those guys aren't trying to hear any apologies or explanation. Once, in Arkansas, I was met by a farmer approaching with a shotgun from a distance. I got the impression my "sorry I'm an idiot, I got turned around" speech wasn't going to be well received. I hauled ass back the way I came and never looked back

I didn't understand why the riders didn't just turn around instead of riding further into the property? That will get you shot in more places than just Texas

No, from the looks of it they kept riding on his property looking for the trail. It should've never even got to the point where the guy hit him with the rake. They should've done what you did and turned back around at the first sign that the guy didn't want them there and didn't want to help.

Unless of course if they were tough SOBs like Disbanded or tprice, the esteemed ambassadors to our sport.

I agree but you don't smash people in the face with a rake because they are on your property, even if they have a helmet on. He is lucky that those guys didn't beat the shit out of him.

The thing is no one knows what that guy has been through or what his mental condition is. He was obviously not interested in drawing them a map so the smart thing is to turn around and get off his property not continue on when they obviously were not welcome on his property.
