Restoring a cr 250 and have cheap horrible Chinese pegs on it atm. Was wondering the best pegs to fit on it after a bit of reading people say that late yz pegs fit straight on or you can get later cr ones and grind them. Any one know what kind of year i want for the yz pegs ?
Like these ??
I may do the top clamp im in the middle of figuring out what i want to do with the front end mainly fork wise
On my bike, the KTM pegs were lower by about 7mm, and the front to back width was 48mm - a useful gain over older pegs.. The KTM pegs had a pivot / mount point width of 30mm, my CR, 29mm - just machine / file off a mm. Used std KTM springs.
I now use the KTM Rally 450RR pegs - lower again by 8mm, front to back width of 54mm, and a length of 130mm from the pivot center to the outside of the peg. The extra length helps out with my valgus problem - worn out knees, that have bent my legs out. Yes, the longer pegs 'clack' against things far more, but it's not a problem - I ride in rocky terrain, where you hit things constantly, and they just fold up nicely, then 'clack' back down. Being steel, they handle all the abuse, well.

When I built my '91 last year, I stared at the pegs on my 200 EXC and wondered if they'd go in.
I had some old WR pegs on the shelf, so tried those, which were a perfect fit, so got some OEM Yamaha Ti pegs off eBay and fitted them using new Honda springs.
Now I'm wondering about trying my KTM pegs on the Honda when I change them over.
