From Star Racing 2009 Team Announcement:

Keith McCarty Factory Yamaha Racing Manager said; “Star Racing has continued to prove to us that they have the vision and desire to put the YZ 250F on the podium and we saw a glimpse of that at the end of last season.” Equally important, Star understands the Yamaha brand and consistently represents the brand in a positive and professional manner. Factory Yamaha is fully committed to see this program reach new heights in 2009 and beyond.”

Just stirring the pot ... thought it was interesting they emphasized that bit.

That's what they were racing when McCarty wrote "Let Brock Bye". Positive professionalism, there.

Yamaha was going to pull it support from YoT with or without Jay. Yot never let Jay go because they knew their support was gone either way.

True, though I guess I am surprised they haven't yet set themselves up with another manufacturer. Whatever the Lawrence situation, they have proven they can run a competitive team and garner a lot of publicity.

They're way more than a competitive team. How about a few dozen SX and MX victories and five or six SX championships?

Besides PC at the top of the heap the only other team that is in the same neighborhood of Troy Racing is Team Geico/FC

the old owner ran the team into the ground and it never realy recovered. It has been mismanged for a long time and Yamaha had enough. Star is a well run team and it has an overall positive image.

WTF, this is motocross, it's not the Mormon church.

JLAW is the best thing that's happened to yamaha since they landed Reed. I can't understand people bagging on Jason when he obviously brings more character to the sport than anyone in recent memory - and oh yeah, that kid can ride a dirtbike too. For all the people that hate him, go see him race. He has more raw skill and style on a dirtbike than 99% of pro racers in the last decade. Yeah, he need to get his priorities ironed out, but wow, that dude is amazing to watch.

J-law is a professional in all that he does, be it drinking, fighting, smoking, riding, etc.

The problem is Rock Troy has turned into a abortion in the last 4 or 5 yrs. YOT has turned into the worse run team out there. They remind me of Team Boo Koo near the end of there run. They hurt careers instead of helping them.

When you go to work today steal or bosses car and wreck it. After that go get drunk and miss a few days of work and when you get back punch someone in your work place in the face. When your boss calls you in his office tell him that you bring a lot of character to the work place and when you work you do it great. I bet he will be impressed so much that you will be fired.

My point is J-Law has a lot of character but the problem is its the wrong kind.

You're entitled to your opinion. Ditto for you RMZ.

Opinions aside 2009 will tell the tale. I wish both YoT and Star Racing the best of luck....is it A1 yet?
