That's what I'm expecting outdoors. It should be a good series.

Indoors though #2 will smoke him.

Anyone who does not think that Alessi will be a threat is not paying attention. He was clearly faster than every other rider last year other than James on the outdoor circuit and he appears to be better suited to the big bikes. RV is fast and he will be a top contender as well, but to dismiss Alessi is absurd.

You utter dumb ass douches... everyone who follows moto knows MA don't have SX in his blood, he's not great at it. RV is GREAT at SX and will school MA bad enough for it to be laughable. Those who talk of MA's experiance obviously have any because that don't mean shit... how good of a rider you are is the only equation and Alessi having more SX experiance won't mean squat because RV is just better. Out doors it will be business as usually MA bridesmaid but never the bride.

Mike Alessi is my guy and will beat RV outdoors. RV is not as good as his hype lets people believe. People like to think he was dominate like Stewart in the Lites and he was not even close to what Stewart was. Indoors RV will get hurt because he has no chance of beating Stewart or Reed and will get hurt because he will press.

Stewart will race the first National and put a ass beating on RV like he has never had before outdoors. Stewart will go full out for the first time since he raced RC and gap RV by 35+ seconds. That way there will never be anyone that can say Stewart ducked RV.

RV will be humbled in 09

Alessi stepped it up 5 notches in the past 2 years outdoors, I don't expect RV to to beat on him, it'll be good. But RV definetely is a better SX rider.

RV Show has what it takes to beat James indoors . Alessi will not be a factor in SX , just another rider he can and will pass on his way to battle with James for the SX title . How many times has James crashed out of a series ? RV is rock solid and has what it takes to win on the big bikes . He has a great team behind him , raw speed , maturity , not many big crashes over the years , consistent and battle tested . The 450 SX title most likely will come down to the rider who makes the least mistakes between Chad , James and RV .

While I have no idea who will do what I'll add my $.02 -

I agree that RV has the talent to run with Stewart and Reed. However, history has shown that when an extremely talented rider, who had scads-o-success in the support class, moves up his biggest enemy is himself. It will be interesting to see how RV does. I wonder where it comes from? Trying too hard? Lack of confidence? Learning curve on big bike?

Will RV's experience be different than RC's or JS's? We'll know in a few months...

This thread should read -

Alessi vs Villopoto - Who will auger first?

My bet is Alessi will be taking the first dirt knap.

If history is any indication of the future, you can easily conclude that Alessi + SX = lawn dart. As far as RV goes, historically when riders go from the 250(125) to the big bikes 450(250) they tend to crash a lot thier first year, especially in SX.

If they both manage to stay up on two wheels - I don't think it will even be close - RV all the way...

I have yet to EVER see Alessi come through the pack in a SX race - now RV - well that's a different story....
