Oil viscosity and rpm/engine load determine the correct ratio. If you run a light viscosity oil, you need more oil than a heavy viscosity oil. Small displacement engines need more oil than large displacement engines. Sandy soils require more oil than hardpack. A pro requires more oil than a beginner.

There is no one size fits all solution.

Bel Ray 50:1....you can never go wrong. BTW DV states anything but 50:1 on a 2 stroke is stupid.
