It's late on East Coast, DeVane still rides as someone else posted, still naturally fast, remember Brian McElroy.....

I'm on the West coast in Nor Cal, but many of the names are familiar.

Start with the first post and go thru 'em all; memory lane for sure....Like I said, Turpin, DeVane and many, many others were mentioned. All those talents we had; an incredible era for MX and great reading the posts for sure.

Cool you're enjoying the thread. Go thru more of the ol' school moto; it'll give ya a thrill. Im done for today...Have fun!

Wardy......mean Jeff Ward was the only rider I remember racing "mr50"s".......Wearing Yamaha gear.....mr50guy........in an ad so you were a big name.....screw it; I can't remember every rider..Pic is awful familiar....

How 'bout another hint.....did ya ever make two or even one digit Nationally? I would've said Myerscough, but seems too young to be him....

The other kid in the chair putting on his boot; isn't that Bradshaw? seems kinda in the age category...

Did mr50guy do any other product magazine ads?

In 89' I can't remember what my # was in 90' Didn't race to much that year.. Kind of got sick of it.. They talk of no money for privateers now. It was really bad back then...

Just a guess; how about Brian Manley? More I think, more I'm convinced.

And the more I think, the more dumb I look as well.

If not, my bad....you rode in SoCal and the others did as well.

Just got a surprise. The picture on the previous page of the start at Orlando Motocross park in 83 was my class. I am #17 on the Kx. Whoever posted that pic if you have any more I would love to see them. If I remember correctly I raced about 48 weekends that year so I may be in a few of your pics. Thanks for the memories.

I couldn't believe that out of three riders in that Hallman ad, two had the same intials......sorry for thinking you were talking about Burner....nice mr50guy had a pretty cool youth and hope he continues to have a good life; no many of us got bragging rights....me at the bottom of that food chain.... glad mr50guy, BobbyM, Pipe and all the others had their days in the sun; I had mine, not Nationally. I'm happy just to have been and continue to be a part of the sport...all that matters to me.

Thats the nice thing about this sport, no matter what your skill level is you can have your own level of success and always have lots of great stories. I never made it nationally but had alot of success at a local level and probably had just as much fun as anyone that made it a career.

[quote="ted":5xojzo59]few more, eddie cummings, trey owens, ty harris, rc bennet, rudy heathcott,.. fast freddie mitchell from ark.. man the memories.[/quote:5xojzo59]
Man, what a surprise? I was just cruising through the site and saw my name mentioned. I used to race with Owens and Heathcott every weekend. If I remember correctly, I heard several years back that Owens was a stuntman in California. As far as Heathcott goes ... I haven't heard anything about him since the early 90's. Seeing names like Dennis Daft, Clay Hoenshell, and Whispern Smith takes me back to the good ole days in OK. When I was a kid I remember watching the battles between Clay Hoenshell, Guy Cooper, Dennis Daft, and Trey Jaworski. Those were some great battles!
