How about the original Hangtown track, Damon Bradshaw was asked about any approvements that could be made
to the track, his reply was the best thing you could do is put a lock on the front gate.
How about Utah, That's a supercross track on the moon.
No more South Wick
If it rains, they scrape the mud off the track WTF.
GuyB-Surprised but more disappointed at your post that you have to play your MXgeoff card especially after I go out of my way to avoid the immature BS "my series is better than your series" nonsense. Unfortunately that doesn't keep people like A.Dleary from putting words in my mouth but that is typical MX forum spin so I consider the source. It used to aggravate me but now it amuses me to see how people how to misrepresent facts to suit their biases rather than just focus on the facts.
You can go the mxgeoff route on me if you want to but look at my avatar if you want to know what really gets my juices flowing. I had that avatar when I joined Motonews in 2004 and with the exception of close to two years with the lovely Salma Hayek my avatar has always been a shot I took from the bridge at Namur in 2000. Going to the 250/500 GP there was a bucket list check off and to this day I can't believe I was there. The fact I was there with my late friend Phil Alderton makes the trip all the more memorable.
Back to the present remember what Barcia said in the MXdN press conference about the tracks being so different in Europe than what our US riders are used to? Well sports fans here is another chance for American racers to face the Rest of the World on US home turf.
I challenge anyone that calls themselves a fan of MX to tell me you don't want to see US riders competing in this years USGP.
Who gonna pay the entry fee? No Purse?
Why risk ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of your life for the grand ole flag?
A clue just lapped you and it did look back too. You'll never catch him at this rate.
Did you see the one post that the World Championship MX title is actually the AMA/FIM SX title? Never mind that whole two different disciplines deal just focus on the world part. ROTFLMAO
You eiither know the end is near or maybe hope the end is near when someone thinks a World SX title has ANYTHING to do with MX. You can't make this stuff up.
Bingo!.
There's a good quote from Kenny Roberts Snr in the new On Any Sunday film, whilst talking about going to race road race GP's he says 'I was really kind of glad to go because it's one thing, and I tell this to some of the motocross guys- it's one thing to say you're, you know, American champion. It's another thing to say you're a world champion. It's a whole new meaning'
Pit Row
much like road racers go after moto gp,
This dude who is saying there is more interest in MXGP from USA riders, they may be true it could be also false, this man is a business man no doubt he paid RV to come over to race to gain more interest in MXGP and it is certainly working and no doubt RV is the most paid MX racer in the world right now.
The only reason why Supercross exists is because of money and entertainment, Sponsers love the amount of exposure from Supercross because it's in a fucking stadium, it is the most viewed racing style in MX because its in a stadium.
The media hypes up supercross like no tomorrow as the world's best form of MX because of the reasons above $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Supercross is an inferior version of MX and it shows even more as riders get better, I honestly hope one day the stupid event dies I want more outdoors I'm sick to death especially these days of riders hitting the same lines and rhythm sections all night, it is evident the sport needs to change when the holeshot is the most valuable part of the race, since everyone is so fast it is so difficult to pass anyone for the current supercross to be more interesting it needs to be 40 laps to prove who is the fastest.
In MotoGP F1 and many other racing sports starts are very important however the race goes on for an hour in most cases, in Supercross the start is just as important however the race goes for 15 minutes, how many times have we seen faster riders place poorly because of their start its easy to say "get better at your starts" but seriously if it was outdoors for example Eli Tomac can make the first turn at 10th and he will most likely place 1-3.
I'm sick of the Americanised bullshit that is supercross.
RV trying his luck in the GP's has proved there is a huge demand and interest for such a thing. There are more interest for this than over your SX. Much more interest than the GP's had before. It's a win/win for gods sake.
I rate my interest like this. 1) World championship 2) Ama Nationals 3) US SX and other national MX
My dream would be like this 1) World championship à la MotoGP 2) different feeder series to earn a place here 3) No SX at all involving the top mx riders because I don't enjoy watching it and it gets the riders injured.
My guess is that a lot of the audience at SX aren't really die hard mx fans. They just enjoy the show whether it's monstertrucks, freestyle or SX. I can not see another reason for them to prefer that our sport doesn't evolve. Am I correct?
I can totally understand that my closest GP in Sweden wouldn't be on the list of a "MotoGp" world championship I would be happy to give it up. Imagine the top 40 in the whole world racing againt each other every other weekend. How can that not be the dream of every fan???
Can't understand the thought process of some people on here and I get the feeling the american motocross industry feels the same way... more interested in the benefits the sport brings to themselves than trying to make motocross popular worldwide by having all the best riders racing in one championship all over the world.
I think the biggest obstacle is for you US fans & riders to realise the World Championship is your series too!
Dude you're clueless
Bradshaw must of commented about the current track which is even worse, lock the gates.
There's tracks that look like GH in the East, the ones that were Strip mined
Post a reply to: GL says top American riders are interested in racing MXGP!
