I don't know about now, but in the past, it was my understanding that getting a ride wasn't the problem, it was getting a ride that paid what he wanted.

I love watching him ride. His style is such a different approach than everyone else. I agree with others who say his level of fan interest ought to count for something in whatever deals he negotiates.

Bud Racing's boss wanted to hire him for the outdoors, but recently told the french press that partners (including Kawi) don't come rushing in to help Pourcel ride, time is running out and he can't make things happen on his own...
Really ?
I don't understand why partners or sponsors don't want to try CP's adventure....Laughing

Well let me say I don't know the whole story, and like anything there are two sides...... but he pushed out the money guy (not Brooks), then got arrested and lost the casino money. To top that, he never held up his end of the bargin to front the money that was absent from the guy he forced out. So the team folded and he went to JGR....... because of him 1)forcing out the finincial backer team owner and 2) breaking a clause in a contract
You're pretty far off on most of that.

Results aside, he doesn't exactly have a great track record in dealing with the teams that provide those rides.

What is so bad about his track record? He left motoconcepts because he didnt feel comfortable on the bike. Even they forgave him because they were in talks of signing him last year. And why is it thats tarnished his career forever, yet James stewart walked out on his contract with JGR And no one ever mentions that? Didnt james have multiple years left on that contract also? Where as cp's deal with MC was only for that season
He knew he didn't like the motoconcepts ride but took it anyways because he wanted a pay check. Mean while factory Conection had him test a bike and he loved but turned it down because it was a bonus only deal, so who is the idiot?

Lets talk about all the teams that offered him a ride when he had a chance, but he turned them all down because it wasn't what he thought he deserved. If he was smart, which he has proven not to be, he wouldve took the deal Kawasaki offered him years ago instead of holding out for more money and he would be racing and making good money now. He is his worst enemy, sometimes in this business you need to swallow your pride and shut your mouth, he doesnt know how to do either.

On a personal note, he is a cool guy, but a dumb business man.

Your way off on that. The money guy never left he "owned" the team. Js7 never did! As for brooks your about 50% correct, but brooks was ready to roll.

If I was a team owner and Chris threw a fit at every other race because his grips were too soft or his croisant was stale, Id laugh it off because I know that at least a few times during each moto of the TV broadcast that Weege guy is going to talk about "The Crafty Frenchman" and probably say the teams name when he did.

Pourcel gets more attention in the 250 class then any other rider regardless of position. Fact!
exactly!
