How do you guys think he'd be doing? Would he be leading the points? Or would Dungey and his new bike be faster than RV?

But he isn't racing. That's like asking how would RC do if he raced this year.

Some rounds he would have a 30 second lead and some rounds he would lap the whole field.

I think Dungey would still be leading points. The guy has been absolutely faultless this year, only been off the podium once and that was a 4th. That would be tough to beat

Um, he was soundly beaten by Tomac this weekend and didn't come on strong till after Roczen had issues.. IMO if RV was healthy it wouldn't even be close. He'd be waiting in the wings for a mistake like every year

He was beaten by a guy who is 70+ points behind him in points, a guy who he beat by a lap last week and by 15 seconds the week before. We're at what, round 12 now? And his worst finish is a 4th, on the podium 11 times. I don't care who you're up against, you do that you're going to be either in, or very close to the points lead. To say it wouldn't even be close is laughable. Your refusal to even contemplate for a second that RV might get beat never ceases to amaze me

I had a fun dream last night. RV was hanging out with me at my family reunion LOL. He told me the only reason he left this year to the GPs was because even tho he won 4 sx titles he didn't feel anyone appreciated him, and he wants to race sx again next year. Bahaha! It was such a real dream. Until the end. Someone spotted a bald eagle in the building and in its claws it has a turkey and someone's baby and escaped out of a window in the roof! then I woke up. YES I had quite a bit of coors lights yesterday evening. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I guess those 4 championships in a row don't count for anything huh? Yes, I'm a nuthugger, the answer to every argument...

With RV2 and if JBS didn't get "hosed" this year, it might be a good series. RD5 has over a 3 race lead on his next competitor.............the year's Supercross has been a snoozer.

Of course they count for something. But so does Dungey's consistency this year. To say that he wouldn't even be close to RV in SX this year when he's been on the podium at every round except the first is ridiculous

Ok, you're right, not close is not the correct wording.. In our fantasy world here I would predict RV first, KR second, and RD a solid and consistent 3rd.

Honestly I think RV would be leading the points but its all speculation. Dungey has at times been the fastest rider this season snd the "problems" other riders are having are their own doing . He didnt get this massive points lead by accident .

RV hangs it out a bit more than Dungey. He may already be on the sidelines by now.

Also, considering he no longer has Aldon and Dungey does, it may be a totally different story. Just had to throw that in there for all the Baker nuthuggers.Wink

RV has nothing left to prove. He has money for miles.

If RV was racing he would be with Aldon, at his own place and RD would just have his new bike. RV would beat him, like usual. And I am a huge #5 fan.

Dungey would be first. Tomac has had a few wins and a few good rides but no consistency at all.

Js7 would be in the same position as Tomac "wreckers or checkers" .

Someone getting 20 plus points week in and out will be very tough to beat. 8 wins and 8 12 place finshes wont trump what RD5 has done.

For now, there are two reasons for this thread and those like it.

1- to bag on Dungey

2- to blow RV

Those who try to defend Dungey should be careful. Chances are high of slipping into a pool of excess spit so deep you'll likely drown.

Just for arguments sake:

If RV was still here he would probably have Baker, and Dungey would probably not.

And the the last time RV crashed out of series was 5 years ago if I'm not mistaken. That really bugs me when people say he's checkers or wreckers.

But this is a thread about if's and but's so who knows

Cheers

It's not "checkers or wreckers" in the traditional JS7 sense, but history has demonstrated that RV either wins championships or crashes out of them, and he hasn't crashed out of many at all. So in keeping with tradition, I'd say that if RV was racing this year in SX the only thing that would keep him from dominating is injury.

Agree... he's technically only crashed out of one series, 2010 SX. 2009 nationals was an existing knee injury I believe.. not a stat guy.
