Awesome looking bikes.

I'm assuming you're Italian Marco? At least that's put you in the right country to source the VRP parts.

yes, from Italy Wink already sourced some of the VRP stuff. swingarm on the way (a long way) but will be replicated. still looking for the Mugen engine. I don't think I have reasonable chances to find the Mugen Forks but I'll sleep comfortably anyway

Great stuff. So you're building a '92 with the trick bits?

Excellent. Sure this bike's going to look great.

Will it get ridden?

Wow! Those fork decals!!

Great they you're going to ride it too. It's be a shame to go to all that effort then not enjoy it for what it was meant for.

You and i feel the same about restoring bikes. When we are dead no one is going to give a second thought about like bikes that consume our thoughts every day. Use them for what they were created for. Let the next guy restore it again if he loves it so much

My thoughts exactly.
As beautiful as some of the resto's are, it's erasing the bikes history.
A fresh bike has no story to tell, so you've gotta make some memories on it before you park it up, and in my opinion, not to polish all those memories off it as it'll make for better stories to the grandkids when you grow grey.

100% agree. Bikes are what we make of them, I guess. So not using them is like not establishing a relation with them

Got the fender! I must say the color matches quite well! According to the informations I collected so far, only a batch of 50 fenders were made

So is that a fender that was specifically made for on-the-line?

Yes. The color is unique. If you notice, it's not the OEM '91 orange, and of course it's not the 92 fluo pink. The color is more like a fluo orange.well, very fluo actually. UFO made them

That's a really nice story , and very simple. I'm not so familiar with the forum, how can I send you a PM?

I found this article on the interweb some years back, I don't have the actual magazine unfortunately.
I like that you're going to ride the bike, that's what they're made for!
As an Italian you should keep your eyes on kijiji. A while back someone was selling a '90 and '91 mugen kit on that site.

Awesome!! Great looking bikes, can't wait to see it start coming together...

RE. Forks, as you said i doubt youll find a set of Mugen showas, but i'd get a set of stock 91 cr125 forks and clamps (your bike seems to be a 92), and remove the silver sleeve parts that go around the bottom of the fork tubes and have them anodised the light gold colour to match the fork uppers...should look a lot like the mugen ones then!

Well,I actually bought those 2 kits. And sold them. Sounds weird but I did it.

Chuck that's a superb idea. I already have the forks. I only have to find someone good enough to make the correct anodization
