Thinking about traveling to the Lommel GP this year (to see RV kick ass, haha).

What time will the race end on Sunday? How long, generally speaking, will it take me to get to Amsterdam after the race? What will be the quickest mode of transportation? Rental car? Train?

My plans are to stay in Eindhoven, see the race on 8-2 and 8-3, and then go to a concert (Armored Saint/Queensryche) in Amsterdam on the evening of 8-3. I imagine I'll have to be in Amsterdam by 8 pm or so. I'm going to see the the same show on 8-4 in Eindhoven.

trains are fast and hotels in Amsterdam are big $$$. Your trip sounds like fun. People are friendly there and most young people speak
english.

Sounds like a good trip. $ 200 a night for a 4 star hotel, go for it.

eindhoven is nice city track is south and east of city and train station is on north of city center
if you get out of track with =out traffic you can get to train station in about an 45 min to an hour
if it was me i would just get rental car and just drive to amsterdam and on sunday you can do in under two hours so between dropping off rental in eindhoven, waiting for train and then switching around, driving would be faster. gas is expensive but in my opnion driving would be faster
if you google map it it is 45 mins to eindhoven and 1 hr 45 to amsteerdam so if you think of all the things to do and waiting for train and train time making your time needed driving is prob better

My first option would be to ask if there's any crazy ass euros that want to hook up with a a crazy mofo and pay for their gas. Party with the locals. I'm guessing you'll find no end of takers.

Sorry, not to derail the thread but this a serious blast from the past... and I'm jealous of the OP!

I would take a rental car from Eindhoven to Lommel and ride back to Eindhoven and take the train to Amsterdam (if time is not an easy but cost is because Parking isn't cheap in Amsterdam). Lommel (track) is also hard to reach with public transport and therefore a car would be easier. To take the car from Lommel to Amsterdam would take less than 2 hours (racing stops around 6 pm I guess, but there would be a lot of traffic).
