I was told that the rider count was down about 60 riders. Many of the top teams didn't send any of their riders, deciding to save them for the opening round in Grand Rapids. Attendance seemed on par Friday night but on Saturday the stands looked lower than normal.

The racing action was top notch even though many teams weren't present. Willard absolutely dominated Saturday night main events winning both. He almost missed the Lites main when he couldn't get his bike started. He had to have someone push start him. As they were dropping the gate he showed up with only seconds to spare.

I remember going to the High School BB finals in that arena. Never figured how they'd fit a track in there.

You said Grand Rapids is the opening round? Wasn't this?

Grand Rapids is the open of the points series. Not sure why DesMoines was not included in the series.
On another note, how was the sound? Did they go with the 94db or the 98db?

Sound is 97db at 3000rpm... Basically it's not different than last year as they tested 99 at 5000 last year.
