Are their any VitalMX members who still activly participate? I've been able to find very little information on OpenAm class for Endurocross.

to the OP, what you raced how many riders were you battling against for 1 of those 12 spots?
Hi Fahren, welcome aboard!Laughing When I raced there were about 24 riders total trying to qualify, so pretty much half made the night show. I'm sure it varies per event though, depending on location. I'm planning to race the Sacramento round again this year so I guess you could say I'm still active in racing. That's the info I was looking for. I'd like to race Vegas and Ontario, but I don't want to make Vegas my first race, drive all the way out there and not even make it to the night event. From all the video I've seen on youtube it doesn't look very hard to make 12 out of 24, I'm just worried if 40+ show up at vegas. I'm from Orange County, so it's a bit of a commitment. It still might be worth it just to get out on track and spend the weekend in vegas though!

I don't want to discourage you, especially since I have never seen you ride and for all I know you might blow me away skill wise, but making the night show is not easy. There may not have been a whole lot of people, but everyone there is a pretty damn good rider. The year before the one in the video I tried to qualify and did not make it, but even if that happens to you don't get discouraged. I learned a lot my first attempt and also got a feel for how to ride the tracks (trust me, get a recluse it's a life saver out there). I would go into it realizing it's alright if you don't make it in your first shot, I'm willing to bet most people don't since it is such a different type of riding than most are accustomed to. That said, if you decide to give it a shot have fun and good luck, hopefully all goes well for you!

This was awesome to watch. and #2 got dickhead karma returned in a quickness, made me laugh.

Good racing jm485, Wish i had the cajones to ride a course like that, but im sure id be a highlight reel yardsale on one of them logs.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not discouraged by it, but I understand completely the likelihood of me showing up and getting in the main on my first try is pretty slim. Maybe I'll wait for Ontario which is just up the street, relative to Vegas from me.
Recluse doesn't make anything for my bike, DRZ400SM with a 19/21 combo pieced together, she's a 275lbs pig but I am extremely comfortable with the bike.

And congrats on your solid riding! Can't wait to watch the season opener.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to comment and watch the video, it means a lot! It's been great to read through this thread again and read the new comments, I really appreciate it and it has definitely made my day! I'm hoping I can make it again this year since it was one of the most fun things I have ever done, it was originally scheduled for April this year but now they pushed the event back, the wait until September is killing me! If anyone is on the fence about attending one of these events near them, go! You will not regret it, the skill the pros have is absolutely unbelievable, and the racing is generally very close with some epic battles mixed in.

That was cool to watch and gave a good perspective on how gnarly Endurocross must be through the eyes of a relative newbie to the sport and not a seasoned Pro with free bikes and support.

Great job man! Those tracks are no joke! I tried a friend's practice track in GA once and after 3 laps I experienced arm pump like I have neve had before. I was in good riding shape as I had recently finish racing a local series. Enduro cross is the ultimate test of fitness on a bike!

Laughing You're right about the arm pump, I was dying! I was pretty damn tired after just four laps, so I can't even imagine how the pros do over ten laps at a time, those guys are incredible.
