i don't know guys.... Qatar kind of looked like Milestone on steroids to me. That's what I'm most concerned about. The learning curve will possibly tougher at some of the more natural european tracks that end up looking like a bomb site by the end of the weekend.

Do you follow him on Twitter?? Its not rocket science to know where they are pretty much every day . Especially when most of the decent UK lads are out in Cali for the winter, and the same over here, every day somebody posts where they are and what they are doing.. even if they dont want you to know.

Add to that the people i know in the paddock, you soon get to know what is going on.

Maybe tomorrow , when you wake up , you might realise where things are..

And good job Dungey got his act together, you guys at least managed one race win today.

That is priceless, Just completely nailed it. Let all just hope he can climb up on that imaginary mighty pedestal some people have built for him sometime this season. Lower top 10 in points ain't nothing to get riled up about gentlemen.

since fucken when is MX about nationality?
Fuck that shit, I'm a fan of riders based solely on their personality and as much as I hate to say it, sometimes not a fan of riders based on their fans personality.. So I won't say I was happy that RV didn't go as good as his fans and apparently all Americans thought he would, but I was happy that it showed how good the GP guys are.. Well so I thought seems some think it was because he rode bad not because they rode good
I think the answer is in the middle he will definitely get better but so might the others
I can't wait to watch it all unfold

Realistically, I think with bike improvements, and more GP race time, he will pull himself into an elite group of .5 or 6 riders. That includes Cairoli, Desalle, Paulin, Nagl, and Van Horebeek. I think he'll be mixing it up with those guys but it's hard for me to think that Cairoli won't do what he always does. He is so efficiently fast on treacherous tracks that he can totally cruise at 80% and take a 3rd or a 4th if he doesn't feel comfortable out there. He is so smart. Probably the craftiest rider I've ever seen with race strategy.

We have 4 riders in MX1 , Simpson, Searle, Watson and Nicolls.. Simpson and Searle have won GP's , Nicolls and Watson can run top 10 .. we expect them to to ride their best and we follow them to the GP's and support them , the same way the JVH fans do with him, and the Desalle fans do for him... i was there when Simpson beat Cairoli on a private Yamaha at Lierop..

Im MX2 we have Anstie,Watson and Pocock, and the same goes for those guys.. Anstie should have gone 1-1 in Qatar last year, but bike issues robbed him.. was there to see him win in Lommel though.

We expect them to do their best , and but for a chain break, we would have kept you off the podium in Latvia.

We know we arent the best in the world, but we compete, and win or lose, manage to do it with grace.

Easy now Simpson did not beat AC. AC's KTM beat him and the next moto AC pulled out 40 seconds in 9 laps just to remind Simpson and everyone else to knell to their King. Also as far as the Chain goes I thought we had a guy racing with a broken toe, You dont think that hurt his results?

I don't know what is worse… The apologetic Americans or the Arrogant Brit's.

Fuck all, let's enjoy the racing and beat our chest when it's over.

Jemcee, I'm half with you on this… I'm a fan of racers, some more than others due to personality traits. I'm all about RV getting his U.S. mojo going but enjoy the Fuck out of JH too!

PhilG, you talk some stupid shit, you should be RV's manager..

So who exactly do y'all (I'll just say non-Americans) have a problem with? I can completely understand talking shit directly to the Americans that were claiming he would win every race by a minute and other nonsense like that. But some of the comments seem to be aimed more directly at tearing down RV and his performance and that just seems ridiculous to me. In every interview I read/listened to, Ryan seemed very humble and well aware that he was going to have some seriously stout competition. If you wanna talk shit, by all means go ahead, just remember to be mindful of where that criticism is directed.

I think that a lot of the "gloating" comes from the fact that a lot of American motocross fans and industry/media members seem to struggle with giving the GPs the credit that GP fans feel it deserves. I think I can see why a GP fan would feel that way.

i agree with this statement. but they shouldnt blame us for the fact that in the past most of there top guys came here, making our series the faster series at one point.

but if you really think about it, euro fans are clearly more fanatical than Americans. and to prove my point, look at how they react to soccer games. they have mass riots over that shit. lol.. or fans from one team mass brawling with fans from another team.. so i guess we should expect them to be aggressive egotistical maniacs that think there team, or rider is the best and everyone else sucks, especially when it comes to us fat, hamburger eating Americans.

Euros are not more fanatical than Americans. The difference is Euros will do shit , where Americans mostly just talk shit.

I would have to agree. I am not a big RV fan, but anyone that thinks that ginger is not going to come back more pissed than ever and raise his game has been sleeping at the wheel for the last 5 years. He will adapt and rise to the occasion.

The GP riders are underrated as well IMO. A lot of the races over there encounter diverse conditions, bad weather, less grooming, dust, rocks, etc. They have to ride in much more challenging conditions at times than we do in AMA Nationals and I think they develop a wider range of skillsets because of it.

Either way, this is great for the GP's and the MX industry as a whole. How many of us made such a point to follow the first MXGP of the year in 2013 or 2014?

Yeah, not good for RV. However, remember three or four years ago when he came back from the broken leg and he got beat at Hangtown by Dungey pretty good and I think the next race as well. I think he was off the pace then too right? I remember people questioning him then and all the spew...but he seemed to come around by the third or fourth race (don't recall exactly) and matched Dungey in speed.

I suspect the same is going on here. Assuming he is not there to relax (which is still unclear I believe) and wants to beat everyone (which hopefully is in his DNA), he should be up to spead by the third round.

From the US or not, RV will do good. He did good this race. People make mistakes, even Poto! He is not there to make money so dont bash on him so damn hard. Atleast his boots didnt have lights on them

Exactly my thoughts... I believe poto is vastly underestimated the gp tracks and their riders.that track is prob the worst on the Callander and least "gp' like so if anything the tracks will only get harder for him.
However I do believe he is one of the best riders out there, I think he's gonna have to get that bike sorted real quick if he wants a shot at the championship as I think he looked really uncomfortable and this is gonna get real good as this is not only gonna be a 2 horse race!

What happened this weekend proved that if you dont bring your A game, its easy to be a mile off... i think RV has just as much chance of going1--1 on his day as 8 other riders , whether they find the answers between here and next weekend is anyone's guess, at some point they will, but trying to learn while you are racing is hard work... thats why you do a preseason.

i still see the ' but when he finds his form he will make everyone look stupid' belief in a few posters... but a lot of people who have woken up to how the GP's are , and the realisation that AC didnt win 8 world championships just by turning up and riding round. he earned them, and the respect that should go with it.

Roll on next weekend.. its another race , totally differerent place , totally different track.

If RV doesnt find what he is after , he could be nowhere after 3 or 4 rounds... looking at the AMA records, i think i went back to 2011 to find a race where RV finished 30 seconds off the win, and that is something he will have to deal with... but he is a multi time champion, so i dont think for a second that he wont bounce back, but he wont be sitting in the holding area in Si Racha thinking he has everyone covered, and that is a place he hasnt been in for an awful long time.

Typical entitlement talk. Shit makes me want to barf! "I Feeeeel like….." Everything is racist, sexist or something of the sort… If you aren't slinging mud don't let your "white guilt" start apologizing for idiots!

Most people here just aren't fucking paying attention to European racing, that's it. They don't know / care about it so of corse they think RV will win by :30. What's the big deal? It's an American forum! Anyone without their head in there ars knows he will be fighting over there.

GO GPRV1!!

Agree 1000 percent. RV could not have debuted on more of an American type circuit than Qatar so can't imagine bike set up was so much different.

EDIT RV will be fine is my guess.
