That kind of surprised me, are/will the BMW's be competitive right away? those 2 are very top of the food chain riders.

Scottie that is very much "ON-TOPIC" and I was surprised to read it in CN. Almost as much when Knight decided to race a QUAD in the last PRO ATV race! Woohoo WTF was he thinking by doing that, what did he have to gain, but a lot to lose?

BMW must not be feeling the economic downturn either as they also signed Troy Corser to race WSB on their first yr effort. Money talks I suppose....

I don't think that Juha is going to BMW.

I don't know if the bikes will be competitive right out of the box but I'm willing to bet the rider contracts are.

Juha Salminen: "I think everyone can see just how committed and serious BMW are to their new G 450 X and the WEC. Personally, I am really looking forward to this new time in my career. The progress that the team and engineers have made in two years is amazing. What's great for me is the fact that although BMW is a huge and experienced company the enduro team is still young. I know they will listen to my ideas, and the ideas of all the team riders, which will help us all perform at our best. It is also a genuine factory team, which means we will be able to develop our bikes exactly as we want them. It's going to be an exciting season next year."

One good looking team

You all forgot Tarkala who signed for BMW too. Big hitter in any class he rides. I wonder how they'll split them in the different classes.

Well I think BMW really wants the 09 championship, and I tell you what either Salminem or knight would win it.. thats for sure, they are one step ahead of the rest. I hope my friend Cervantes wins the E3 class!

Thanks for clearing that up. That's going to be one badass team if the bikes are good.

Knight is reportedly going for the 2009 500hp, V-10 M-5, while

Juha simply wants an old 1972 2002......
