Gloat all you want GP people. I'm a little surprised, didn't watch much of the 2nd moto but if you think the RV you saw today is the RV you'll see the next 16 rounds. Well you can keep your fingers crossed.

I picked RV for 5th this round, behind Desalle, Cairoli, Paulin and Nagl. He's about where I thought he would be. He'll come good and win a round or two for sure. Will be an interesting title chase....

Come on here and gloat if you're not from the winning country it's kind of sad. If Italians wanna give me shit if TC smokes him cool I'll take it like a man but I don't wont to hear shit from Brits Swedes Latvians or whoever. I don't want to hear about how big our country is either, don't blame us for being explorers and claiming a giant piece of land Tongue
But I thought it was USA vs THE WORLD for this year GP title? Thats what most of the posts were saying since the word came out RV2 was racing GPs this year. That and how RV2 was going to win each race by 30 seconds...........

This was not a dig at RV2, just the keyboard warriors around here.

Yep.

And Scotland is part of Great Britain.

If Keyboardwarrior had asked how did the English riders did today the answer would be different... Smile

That track was probably most favourable for RV you realise right?

We have 4 riders in MX1 , Simpson, Searle, Watson and Nicolls.. Simpson and Searle have won GP's , Nicolls and Watson can run top 10 .. we expect them to to ride their best and we follow them to the GP's and support them , the same way the JVH fans do with him, and the Desalle fans do for him... i was there when Simpson beat Cairoli on a private Yamaha at Lierop..

Im MX2 we have Anstie,Watson and Pocock, and the same goes for those guys.. Anstie should have gone 1-1 in Qatar last year, but bike issues robbed him.. was there to see him win in Lommel though.

We expect them to do their best , and but for a chain break, we would have kept you off the podium in Latvia.

We know we arent the best in the world, but we compete, and win or lose, manage to do it with grace.

Exactley... the expectation that they can just show up and should win is based on old science. When you look at what Tomac did in race 2 in Latvia, thats what you would expect out of RV, except ET was riding so far over the limit it was untrue, i lost count of the times he looked like he was going to crash, but he wasnt prepared to finish mid pack.

And Dungey had the same issues as RV.. poor set up and lack of prep.

yeah but Dungey comes off a hectic season (well actually two) and RV had more than enough time to prepare for the tracks... Now the races have started and he starts to try and set up his bike. A little late now I guess.
He'll be good, the question is just WHEN

I really wish he would do one more season, it's a lot to expect to win the first go around. All the guys that come here need at least one season under their belts to get things sorted out.

I was mocked for suggesting that he was under prepared, using Rattray as a marker is next to useless, as much as Rattray has won a World Championship, he has struggled since coming back to Europe, i know he picked up an injury, but that has robbed him of his speed, i wasnt surprised he left IceOne, but i was blown away with him getting the factory Kawasaki ride after that , i really expected him to be done . So RV thinks he is the guy that ran him hard on a 250 , but he isnt that guy any more, he looked off in the video's , and i said as much.

And then RV doesnt do any preseason races, tests in the US at Milestone, my boy said he rocked up early and was done early, then the GP guys turn up when its rough and run a tank full of gas and go home...

Now after seeing what we witnessed today , and yesterday, had he have done what we expected, he would have been so much more ready... maybe they could have sorted some stuff out , and he wouldnt have started his campaign sat on the gate kicking.

In response , you could say that none of it matters... but when your competition is out doing stuff you arent doing , and they KNOW what you need to do , you would think the penny would drop.

I don't disagree with your points, but in all fairness he did have electrical issues with the bike.

I honestly think he may have under estimated his competition, maybe feeling like he didn't need to do those races, much like his fans, including me.

i know he did no preseason races, i know he busting out laps on flat tracks when everyone else wasnt...my boy was out in Cali over new year and couldnt believe RV wasnt turning up in the afternoons like Desalle and Stribos.

And is that the same rear brake 'problem' Dave Thorpe had at Maggiora... do i need to got find a video of him locking the back wheel.??

If they had raced preseason, they wouldnt have gone into Qatar having zero gate drops. Practicing starts on your own is nothing like sitting with 30 other guys.

Maybe his brake went , which is why he dropped off Febvre, but he gated 7th and went nowhere.

You just cant believe it, and you have no humility to admit he didnt perform. Man up.

There have been great successful GP riders coming here for years AFTER the original years of GP dominance.

JMB
Greg Albertyn
Chad Reed
Grant Langston
David Vullemin
Stephane Roncada
Mikael Pichon
Christophe Pourcel
Jamie Dobb
Marvin Musquin
Ken Roczen
Sebastian Tortelli

The GP riders are plenty fast and on a par with US riders. The US may win a lot of MXdN races but I think if it was configured so it was Europe (or GP riders in general) against the US, the results would be equal. The guys who have been champs would be champ no matter what series they race.

RV will be better in the coming races. I just heard Aldon Baker has taken an emergency flight to Europe. Woohoo
