I'm about to buy a vehicle and don't know if I should get a truck or a moto van. I read the truck vs. can thread and heard some people say cans suck for daily drivers then some say they are great. It's an 01 Ford E-350 for $4900. It's already set up for moto. Should I get this or just get a truck? I'll be driving it daily everywhere I go.

Not a whole lot different than driving an F250/350. Ridden in lots but never owned a full sized, but I have owned 3 Astros. I loved being able to go places and not have to worry about my bike. If you've ever owned one you know it doesn't come out of an Astro as easy as a truck.

My extended E350 is a little big, but I go everywhere with it with no problems. It still turns much tighter than my last F150 and that's what counts when getting in and out of parking lots with a daily driver.

Do you need a truck for anything besides bikes? If not then go with the van not any bigger to drive and like has been said good to have your stuff inside.

A truck is so much more versatile to me.. The van is kinds limited. It's up to you. I don't really know how a van could be a bad daily driver. It's basically just like any other truck sized vehicle?

I ride and wrench bikes often. I also have many farm animals. My truck sits 90 percent of the time, vans are bad ass! Very few things you cant do with a van that you can do with a truck. Now picking up chicks in a van, can be harder then a presentable pick up.

Turns out the guy sold it yesterday. Damn shame too, it was sweet. How much would it be to set up a van for moto? Insulation, wall, carpet, back seat, etc.?

I'm in the same boat - I figured a truck would be more convenient as a daily driver as opposed to a van, but I live in a rural area with country lanes so that's my thought process personally. Plus it looks badass driving through the city with a dirt scooter on the back... I mean there are pro's and con's to both really, so it's kinda personal preference.

Been driving vans for many year Elect/HVAC-R business E 150/250s other than gettung in and out of them there great. Just got rid of my last E 150 a few years ago for a Ranger been wanting another van lately. If you d the work yourself you can likely get by with about $300/400 for inso and some shelves, a good h/a rack is nice esp when insolated, no A/C problems it will freeze your ass off.LOL
