Villo is 3 to 5 in the morning line
AC is even money
The rest of the field is 10 to 1

I've never said "stamp it" before but "stamp it".

What I will say is Villopoto has never faced anyone as fast and as consistent as Cairoli is in 450 motocross.

Dungey is about the closest thing, but I don't think he's quite as fast as Cairoli (he was beaten by a rookie Roczen in the AMA 450s last year, for example).

You could say Stewart as well, but he's been inconsistent for years now, and for one reason or another has struggled to complete full seasons (missed several races in 2013).

You also have the likes of Canard and Barcia, both very fast on their day, but they're not the seasoned Champions that Cairoli is.

And then you're getting down to guys like Weimar, Short, Tickle and Alessi, fine riders all of them, but not among the elite.

I'm not sure that these guys were really a better class of competition than Paulin, Desalle, Van Horebeek, Nagl, Searle, De Dycker, Bobryshev, Frossard and Strijbos are going to be.

If this is going to be the toughest challenge of Cairoli's career, then it's also going to be the toughest of Villopoto's as well, and Cairoli has 'home' turf advantage.

For that reason, i'm leaning towards Cairoli coming out on top over the course of the season, while recognising that Villopoto ending up with the title wouldn't be a shock either.

You talk sense sir cheers

Cairoli is an animal also
A good portion of people commenting don't actually know this about him as all they know or have seen is some MXDN but hey whatever, this will be the 1st year a lot of the experts will actually see a GP season, or even race which is laughable really considering some of the comments being thrown about.

Staying neutral as ever

Somebody posted the results of RV's career the other day - pretty scary indeed and beyond impressive, not that we as fans didn't already know just how dominant he has been but it's so easy to forget just how good he has been until you see it all laid out in one place - the same goes for Cairolli and his achievements though when they are laid out, again keeping it neutral.

I just hope the SX broadcast doesn't spoil the results during the show.
Qatar is on before SX

sorry to say but if you don't watch the GP live you are screwed, there is no way you will get through an SX broadcast without it being mentioned, especially if he wins.

I'm on the fence as to who will come out on top but it might just come down to who is most consistant as i don't see those 2 winning every gp Desaille and paulin will win races in my opinion

Due to the rampant bigotry toward Americans the rest of the World holds deep inside... I worry about RV actually racing on a level playing field. I don't think people understand how corrupt and shady the MXGPs really are.

been watching them since I was a child - I am 39 so have a reasonable understanding of the series

corrupt on the track how exactly? bit of a wild statement isn't it?

seriously you will go there and say he wont get a level field? careful Ryan you might get fans sticking spokes in your wheels or something equally as daft, stupidity on display here Roost and I won't say it's typical as I don't wish to feed your opinion that the world hates America - FWIW they don't, however, the fact that some of you think this way says a lot.

I believe that RV has a slight mental edge over TC to be fair. AC has only beaten him once, 2nd Moto of the mxon 2006. And RV still got the overall against him.

I think the only thing that can stop RV is injury. And since most of the injuries that actually sidelined him in his career, I believe happened during Supercross races, and he is not doing that.. I think yes, the good, smart, bad, and dirty money is on RV for the Win.
