orion 50cc dirt bike wont start

I have a Orion 50cc dirt bike it has set for a few months and I can't get it to start I have fuel and spark I think I have figured out it has low compression if I stick my finger over the spark plug hole it does not compare to compression my crf50 has if anyone has any advise I would appreciate it

Orion, that's Chinese, no? I have some suggestions, to save you some time, and heartache. The following is a repair kit.
Attach this to your bike, go with at least a 30 foot length.


and load it into this

Yes it is Chinese should have bought another Honda but I thought it might be ok they look like they have the same exact engine

They`re not. Not even REMOTELY, in anything in the quality control or longevity dept. Might be a direct copy of a Honda motor, but that is where the similarities end. Sorry about your luck.

Do a compression test.
Clean the carb jets.
Put in fresh fuel.
Put in fresh spark plug.

Yes I have done all of those but the compression test and I just don't have the tools but like I said I put my fingure over the plug hole and it's not even close to the compression my crf50 has

Get the tool and do the test.
Then you are not guessing.
The issue will be getting the parts to fix it if the compression is low.
Question....Is the spark a good Blue color?

Yes it has a very good spark and I just did a compression test and it only has 50psi

Probably the valves as I cant imagine the rings going that fast. If you can find a new head gasket, you might be able to lap the valves, or at least try and adjust them. Did the bike come with any kind of manual.

It's strange that not 2 hours ago I was reading some reports on the Massimo UTV's. They are a Chinese knock off of a Yamaha Rhino, most of the parts even interchange. Anywho, there are some folks who are having tranny troubles, amongst other things, and finding difficulty getting warranty response.

50psi is not near enough. Minimum is 90psi for a small gasoline engine.

Put about of tablespoon of motor oil in the cylinder through the spark plug hole, spin the motor over slowly with the kickstarter, then test compression again. If the test is higher you know the piston/rings are worn rather than a tight or worn valve.

Yes gaskets are the same as crf50 and what do u mean by lap the valves. No there is no manual.

Lapping valves is the act of using an abrasive paste between the valve and seat to mate the interface surfaces together for a better seal. If the valves/seats are worn to the point the engine wont run, lapping is going to be a waste of time and effort.

Also, if you weren't holding the throttle wide open while performing the compression test, its possible the test will read low.

Ok I didn't hol the throttle wide open but I went out and put a little oil in the spark plug hole and kicked it a few times and got 80psi

That would suggest you have ring wear, but until the valves are checked for proper clearance you will not know for sure. If the valves are too tight then you would loose compression.

Search "Honda 50 valve adjustment" on youtube. It will make better sense seeing it rather than one of us trying to type it out.

ok so I got to thinking and I ended up using my compression tester and screw the hose into the spark plug hole and instead of putting the gauge on the other end i hook my air compressor up to it and put a little pressure back in the head and found out that the valves were leaking so I took the valves out clean them off and put everything back together ran another compression test and came up with about a 115 psi so I put the carburetor and exhaust back on kicked it twice and it fired right up thank you guys for all your help I appreciate it
