I see a lot of the factory bikes with different colored engine cases.. not from paint. From what I've gathered there's different chemicals you can use to achieve a certain color? Any of you know how to do this?

They are special coatings. Anodising, akodised, and special coating that help protect alluminum and magnesium parts.

99% of the cases on the factory bikes are akodised and Hinson does it for the factory teams.

I know some anodize them to get that look also. (See docwobs RM 250 AF build). I think the factory bikes are akadized as Digger29 said!

Digger is spot on. Hinson sends off Kawasaki and KTM's cases to the same person that does their akodizing.

Besides being trick as hell, what's the point of akodizing?
