Qatar can`t get here soon enough.

It could be that RV just wanted a rough track to practice on.....I don't think he cares about anyone's lap times...he has that covered.

Also its a good idea to see where your roughly at with the rest of the Gp riders, I mean even if RV is the same or faster does it really mean shit, AC rides as slow as he can to win a race, gets 20 seconds in front then uses his board to maintain the gap. Not sure this is going to work with RV though who is just as clever at winning championships .
According to Italian news outlet RV is apparently doing one of the 3 rounds, how true remains to be seen,(I doubt it personally)the track is hardpack btw.

Some might flame RV for not lining up yesterday, sure it's a shame but at the end of the day you can hardly blame him,it's a sand track and it's obviously well known AC is awesome in the sand,if he lost it's a huge psychological boost for AC and the opposite for RV,who knows,it could have gone the other way and been an even bigger deal but maybe with how things went down at the Lommel MXdN for RV's usual competition,it was such an unpredictable gamble to take

Renting the track the following day is a great strategy,RV will know how he stacks up on an ungroomed surface and at the end of the day they can state or "leak" whatever laptime out It Evil

Mind games all the way and it all adds too (arguably) Qatar Woohoo

At the end of the day RV not lining up for a pre season race just builds the anticipation coming into Qatar. I'd rather Qatar comes around not knowing whether RV is going to win comfortably or have to battle for the podium. I'm as eager to see AC, RV, GP and all the other guys on the gate together as the next guy, but it'd be cool to go into Qatar with that element of the unknown still there

Been busy getting stuff ready for the SM season , had a weeks testing in spain booked , but had to skip that as starting a new job the week before so will have to make do with 3 days in France instead , and as much MX as i can fit in .. waste of time riding in the UK, its wet and cold and not respresentaive.

Thanks for missing me though..

RV not riding in Italy when he was there... well i think he could have rode , but dont blame him for not racing with no testing there, but of course he could have tested there like the rest of them .

All of the Suzuki boys are at Hawkstone this weekend , with the kawasaki MX2 team and others, and obviously all the others are doing the second italian round, rumours of RV riding are just that, rumours, will be interesting to see if he does ride this week though.

Nuff said. Plus a perfect place to test suspension with the track in this condition.

As others have said, sometimes these comments make me wonder why I waste my time reading these threads.

It will probably be very beneficial for RV to ride the day after the race. All the GP's are 2 days, and the track was groomed flat for the start of the day at the Italian round, then it had one day of racing on it. It's probably the closest he's gonna get to Lommel on the Sunday of a GP

When has RV ever gave a crap about qualifying/practice times? As long as he made into the show he knew he could handle the business.

Hey furiners, got a little tid bit for you. RV doesn't give a single fuck about your National Championship races so you can quit bagging on him now. They mean nothing and it's a shame you are all butt hurt because he didn't race one of them.

Calm down. Only one 'furiner' in this thread said he was dissapointed that RV didn't race yesterday.

Who's not calm? Many have made dumb comments about him not racing them and more than one in this thread. Maybe you couldn't tell by my 'furiner' remark, but my post should not be taken too seriously.

I am all for RV winning in his quest to take on the world. I understand most of you have not followed anything in Europe before.

AC does not Peak at these races. He is quite often beaten at them. But come the actual season he begins to peak 2-3 rounds in and onwards.

Renting the track will give RV a slight gauge against Paulin. But I doubt even he is peaking right now.

It's the smart thing to do, but it's lame. If it is true that Kawasaki rented the track (and on top of that even ask not to groom it) he is actually secretly comparing his laptimes against those of AC222. He now knows what AC is capable of but he does not want to show AC what he is capable of. It's smart, but lame. Why does he not want to show AC what he can do on that track ? Why didn't he show up to race ? I think that if it was vice versa a lot of you guys would say AC does not have the guts to show up.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying RV does not have the guts. I'm just saying that i think it's lame that he did not show up at the startline if he wanted to compare himself against AC. If the rumour of renting the track is true that is....
They rented the track to get set up information.

RV just got to Europe last week....just taking a little time to get acclimated that's all. He'll race soon enough, I bet its a little strange for him to have everybody worried about his lap times and everyone with a phone videoing him....In the US people are just used to seeing all the top pro's practicing everyday at local tracks.... in Europe probably not so much.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but from his wife's Instagram it seems that he was held up in France for an extra day or so because of rough waters. I think he was probably originally planning on riding in Italy today (Monday), but hopefully we will see or hear of him out there tomorrow. It seems like he has hit a few small tracks in the South of France this past week. I dunno about you guys, but the idea of RV traveling across the EU riding these cool little secluded tracks is awesome to me. Props to RV and his family for undertaking this whole endeavor. Can't wait for Qatar.

I am very impressed RV signed up for MXGP this year but share your opinion on showing up the day after. That is a move of someone on their way up in the sport and not at the top of their game. RV's at the top of his game and practice lap times are like dyno's.....they're relevant but what happens during the race is the only thing that matters. Hannah back in the day it didn't matter what place start he got because he dug down and pulled out whatever was required to win. I hold RV in a similar regard so wish he'd lined up and opened up a can of American 'whoop azz" on his competitors and wherever he finished he'd finished.

Here is the link to the results

Thank you. Someone who understands.
I'm not dissing on RV. I think he will do very well. It would not surprise me at all if he becomes world champion because if someone can take on Cairoli in his 1st year in the GP series it's Villopoto.
And if he decides not to ride the pre-season races you won't hear me complain. It's his decision . But don't go out and practise on the track the day after, when everybody is gone. Take the bull by the horns. Line up and give AC a run for his money.
I'm not seeing the shame in doing so. Weird shit happens in pre season races. Look at Adam Cianciarulo. Sitting out sx because of a preseason race crash. I'm all for any of these guys going and doing a preseason race but I sure as hell won't bust their balls because they decide not to. If anything is lame it would be coming on the internet and talk about how lame RV is for doing so and in the same breath talk about how you have no problems with the guy. He wanted to get some training in on a rough race track but didn't wanna line up. So what! I bet he figured some shit out, the track owner got paid probably a pretty decent amount and didn't have to do diddily squat to the track. Shit, if he is guilty of anything it would be stimulating that local economy.
