Tell me what you guys think these are from the bearings on the shift fork stopper we're all in tach still but the little metal piece that covers the bearings were in the bottom of the crank case

Looks to me like they didn't clean out the bottom of the cases good enough before they put it back together.
There are a lot of oil tracts that are hidden, including the oil pump and screen filter, ect. There are even oil tracts going up thru the cylinder and the head. If they didn't take everything apart, rinse it, and blow out everything with compressed air, then there would probably still be some leftover metal bits in there.

sorry i ment to say these are not the bearings from the shift for assembly and this was before i took the bike to my yamaha dealer they said they clean everything out in the tank and only found a few metal shaving in the bottom of the crank case the clean it all out and reassembled it and it still seized so i am getting frustrated beacuse if they clean it all out and put it back together for the second time and it still seizes im going to not trust there mechanic should i take it to someone else or try and shoot for a brand new motor ?

my 2014 yz250f seized on me it had about 60 hours on it and it ended up being the shift fork stopper well the are covering everything free of charge well the replaced the part and split the cases and said he tore everything apart and put a new piston in the engine and put it back together and cranked it over and it was still seized so now there taring it all apart again and putting a new rod in it to see if that is the problem im getting frusturated and how long its taking but least its free of charge here is a picture of what i found in the case cover ill up load in my next post
Im not so sure they build the motor correctly, Wont seize on assembly, unless timing etc is wrong and the valves are catching the piston. Did Yamaha do the rebuild? This should be checked way before attempting to start the motor.

Tm sells a magnetic drain plug, I will be ordering one soon, it will catch any shavings in the oil that the filter or microscreen won't grab.

For those who say this is not a problem on the 14' 450, think again. Here is what I found in my motor at 30 hours. My magnetic drain plug saved my engine and pulled all the pieces to the bottom of the motor. Most of them came out on the plug itself and I fished the rest out with a magnetic wand with the side of the cases off.
I realize this is an old post but it is one I found when searching for the problem so I figured I would share my experience. I hope anyone with a 14' yz250f or yz450f is smart enough to change this part out.
