riding since i was 4, my father owned a motocross shop and was irish champion, i then grew up to be multiple schoolboy and adult irish champion years ago, before lack of fitness caused loss of sponsorship, been riding off and on now for 29 years, its the only sport i have a real interest in, lived and breathed it all my life and know it so well, i follow irish, british, world and ama championships every year, visiting multiple races worldwide, love motocross, love riding and racing, no better adrenaline than sitting on the start line with up to 39 other guys gunning for that holeshot and race win, riding has become more and more fun the older i got as the pressure is gone as i just ride for fun now although you don't bounce the same the older you get..

Riding / racing for me is the single most satisfying thing I have had the privilege to do.
I feel lucky to have had a Dad that raced and brought me with him to experiance our wonderful sport.
I have passed on the passion for riding to my two boys both college grads who still love to ride with dad.
I don't have the speed I once had but, have a great time when ever I get to spend the day spinning laps!
Nothing can match the feeling one gets when you can actually relax enough to be fuid on the bike.
Cheers, Pat

Simply For fun. I've actually never raced because I won't get to spend as much time on the bike compared to just play riding which I can do all day.

I ride because it is the best thing in the world. Growing up riding and racing on the weekends at the track with my family allowed me to create a great relationship with my father. I will love this sport forever because of that. I still ride around with my dad and we play race with each other on a little track we have at his place. We are still spending quality time with each other and having fun with that mutual bond of motocross.

I've got a 1 year old son who I'll probably start riding around in the field soon (as soon as his head will fit into helmet). I can't wait for a few more years when he'll be able to ride a PW50 and join daddy and grandpa.

I just love motorcycles. I always have. I remember being a little, little kid and being absolutely obsessed with motorcycles. I ride on the dirt so I don't get in trouble with the law. I just cannot ride a motorcycle slow. I used to ride my Ninja WFO and I got lots of tickets doing that.

Because when your in the zone
It requires no effort, no thinking, your mind is empty, it's pure enjoyment
It is as if time moves slower, when normally you should act very fast, it feels as if you've got time to spare

Because I can and do with friends I've know for years or guys from work. No bullshit, laughing and roosting each other.

When I get on a bike it takes me back to the feeling of that first time I rode a bicycle as a 5 year old kid. Flying on the ground, smoothly covering distance. As long as I can physically and financially manage it, I'll keep riding. 40 years of dirtbikes this year, still the best sport I've ever seen.

I ride because it's the only thing I have ever done that is more fun than sex!

There's nothing like pushing yourself mentally and physically on the track. The sense of accomplishment after you go for that big jump the first time or when you rip off lap after lap. I don't get the chance to ride much anymore, but I don't know who I would be if I didn't get to at all!

I just always thought dirtbikes were the coolest! As a little kid, the knobbies, big suspension, throwing roost, and launching jumps was what I wanted to do. Now it's just a fun time to unwind from "real world" things.

Because unlike the other type of riding I've engaged in, this riding won't spend all your money behind your back, go out on your first anniversary and bang some guy, constantly bitch about everything under the sun, back way from the garage and rip the cord AND the socket out of the garage wall one week after being told to wrap it around the door mirror so you won't forget it, but be blamed for it when I'm a thousand miles away. There's a LOT more, but you get the idea.

No, this riding is all about your efforts, what you get from them, the thrill that's unequalled by anything else, and the time on the bike, that blanks out EVERYTHING else in the world. When I ride, it's a total focus on the riding. Not mortgage worries, bill payments, truck breakdowns, or skanky ex-wives. Nope, it's all about the RIDE.
Well said.
