I saw Stevie Ray Vaughn back in the early 80s at Chicago Fest before he was really big. Just him a bass player and drummer. Lot of Hendrix covers and not much vocal.... awesome guitarist. Another guitarist I saw live that really stands out to me was Johnny Winter.

I was listening to some SRV earlier today. So many good ones over the years.

The old blues guys were rad. This guy, completely different genre, is pretty gnarly as well.

This talented man died just over a decade ago, december 8, 2004. I'm glad that I got to see him play live.

Hard to believe it's been 10 years since the world lost Diamond Darrell.

Jeff Beck is the GOAT in my opinion. There's not another person on this planet that can do what he does

A Lot of good picks here..all of them are tops or "GOAT" in my book..when I seen the Glenn Campbell pick I thought of Roy Clark..That dude was always entertaining to watch.

Painted my MX helmet to look like Eddie VH guitar in the 80's...LOL

Tommy Emmanuel sold his soul to be able to play the way he does on an acoustic.

Dimebag gets my vote, but there is too much opinion for guitar GOAT.

He wasn't necessary the GOAT, but sure worth mentioning!

Everyone has a favorite. It's very subjective obviously. The record books in mx clearly belong to RC. The record books in music point to Tommy Tedesco if I'm not mistaken, as the most recorded guitarist ever. Some would argue that James is faster than RC. The same with Tedesco. Lots of guys play more notes. Tedesco just played less notes better.

I can appreciate shredders but I'm more a fan of riffs and tone.
I had the chance to meet Darrell in 1983, one of the coolest dudes ever. This video is awesome, would give anything to have been there. Nice Steve Vai impression at 20:55.
