I am a Web Developer (Web Engineer when I am at the bars cruising for chicks)

Been at it for about three years now. Got my first job in Portland getting my bachelors degree in Interactive Media.
Got to work for awesome companies, Scholastic, lots of universities and other stuff working in Drupal. Loved it but hated Portland. Moved back to Alaska started as a Lead Developer for a shotty company here, bailed after 5 months of humiliation going from amazing awesome clients with budgets to mom and pops with no budget and bosses who ignored my word.

Ended up leaving, by chance met a guy starting up a Web and Interactive Design business. Hopped on with him. I work from home everyday, have an office when I want it, pay is great and pretty much every agency contracts with us in Alaska to do their work along with that we have our own clients outside of agencies and side projects. It's a nerds dream.

Oh, there is also two years in there where DanDunes and I ran MotoXAddicts together and I had the best time of my life living childhood dreams sitting in press boxes and walking tracks =)

Also kicking around the idea of getting a Masters in Educational Technology and helping special needs someway through it.

I've been a chef for 12 years now. Traveled the whole world with it, worked for big bands such as Arcade Fire, Supertramp, Them Crooked Voltures and much more, many michelin star restaurants but also beach clubs and once worked for Red Bull big WRC hospitality centre in Spain.

Still love my job, but because of the long and late hours it's very hard combining it with MX.

I absolutely love Them Crooked Vultures! Been on a Josh Homme kick lately. I work for a maintenance contractor in a large food product plant, Archer Daniels Midland. Play in bands for fun and pocket money on the weekends.

Currently at 16 I am a Food Runner at the local country club. The kitchen is upstairs so I run up down all night carrying trays of food. The pockets of golfers support my racing.

I'm a mechanical engineer, I worked in the motocross industry for a while and did some pretty fun product testing, race support, and travel. now for the last 7 years I have been in the forensic engineering field doing traffic accident reconstruction, with a focus on motorcycle accidents.

USMC, KC-130 Crewmaster (Crew Chief/Loadmaster). It’s a pretty good gig, been to 30 countries and counting. Not a lot of time left for me to ride, and it's hard to be stationed near good places to ride.

I used to do that. When anybody asked me what I did, I told them I ran an adult day care center! Laughing I don't miss it.

For 7-8 years I was a full time real estate agent, before the market crashed. Took a part sales job with a company about 5 years ago that manufactures liquid, solid separating centrifuges. Mainly dealing with mineral, and food processing industries.

It pays the bills. I'd like to go back to real estate full time, but scarred to give up the weekly pay check and insurance!

I heard that RE: give up the weekly pay check and insurance!

I was without insurance for over seven years (raced 2.5 years during that period) and seriously value my insurance plan especially after two MRI and full low back and sacrum x rays this month.

This is pretty cool.

I guess it sounds like I'm one of the few who doesn't earn a living from some form of construction, manufacturing or IT. I graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from UT and went to work for Frito-Lay. While there I got my MBA and immediately did what absolutely no-one does upon receiving that degree - I took a 50% pay cut to go work for my parents. Their medical clinic was struggling due to the economy and geo-political tensions, so I spent a year doing a complete turn-around. I left that job with $10K to my name but it was worth every minute for how much I learned.

Now I work for a small management consulting company, mainly in the oil & gas industry lately.

Looking to start my own company in the next year. Maybe a bicycle company. Maybe a software development company. May become a grocery store owner. Who knows.

My best job though is the one that doesn't pay. I work for my church's volunteer construction group. On Saturday mornings we go build ramps for handicap people, fix roofs, install indoor plumbing, etc. It's one of the most rewarding jobs I've ever had and makes it easier to spend the week days sitting in front of the computer.

That's beautiful! You get to help others, see the fruits of your labor AND get the positive feedback. After a lifetime in sales (sure you landed a million dollar contract last month but what have you sold TODAY mentality) I enjoy painting (walls not portraits) building things and/or anything I can step back and look at to see what I've accomplished. Never got that satisfaction from selling.

Also appreciate your and others positive feedback on my afternoon job.

Some pretty cool things listed here. Definitely a lot of variation among the members.

For the last 2 years I've managed 10 FedEx Ground and Home Delivery routes for a FedEx subcontractor, and have flown private jets for very high net worth individuals to wherever they want to go, whenever they want to go there.

Before that I flew the ATR42/72 and Cessna Caravan for a FedEx subcontractor. Can't seem to get away from FedEx!

Software Development Business Analyst here in Dallas for a consulting company... and Fox Racing is one of our biggest clients. So, my employer redesigned the ecommerce shopping experience for Fox a few years ago and we continue to manage some of the site changes.

I'm a Sales Manager at a new/preowned car dealership...and I totally agree with the "adult day care" remark.

Made it a few credit hours short of a 2 year associates degree before buying a Pepperidge Farm cookie franchise (Goldfish Crackers and Milano cookies). Was fortunate enough to purchase a second franchise and combined both, staying in the business for 11 years. Equity maxed, so I decided to sell my business and start a dirt bike graphics company called Armored Graphix, Inc.

Almost 4 years later, we are still above water, but not "making it" by any means. I will say that I absolutely love what I do though, and look forward to coming to work everyday, literally. The thing I do miss about the Pepperidge Farm franchise, is that I sold food, and people are always going to eat, recession or not. Dirt bike graphics are a want, not a need. Much tougher to support a family of four with, but fun trying!

Goal is to move to Wyoming, push some cattle, and give guided dual sport tours of the Big Horns, guided cruiser tours of Yellowstone, and have a motocross track open to the public, giving a lot of the youth out there something to else positive to do.
