I have run across many people in my almost 50 years on this earth, both in work life and personal life.
From school years onward, it has always made me pause when I have encountered people that I have scratched my head and paused to contemplate why their parents decided on their given names at birth.
A few examples, all real:
Some elementary school classmates - Third grade, Harry Bohls. Fraternal twins in 5th grade, Holly and Tommy, last name was Hawk. Our football teams outside tackle, Dick Long. We actually called him "Dickie" even though he weighed about 230 in HS, but was easily outrun by us running backs!
As a teen when I was pumping gas at the Shell Station (pre-self serve days), the guy that drove the fuel truck was Dick Peters. He was a bald-headed giant, so we called him "Big" Dick Peters. He always tried to hit me with the wooden stick he checked the tanks with. One customer who drove a big Lincoln and smoked Raleigh Kings, was named Johnny Swallows. WTF?
Later in my professional career, one of the sales guys I met was named Dick Knotts Another, Harry Pfister.
My father worked for a company (Shelter-Rite Corp) that the founding brothers first names were Dick and Dave. Last name Seaman. Who knowingly names their kid Dick, with such an obvious last name?
There have been numerous others I have encountered over the years, but if you have run across similar head-scratching "What were they thinking?" names, post them up.

Grace slick named her kid god.
, dick trickle.
1. Say the full name out loud (including common nick names) several times and actually listen to it.
2. Imagine the kid answer role call in Jr High.
3. Imagine the kid being introduced in a business meeting when they're 40.

I worked with a guy named Richard Head who went by Dick. I still can't believe that one. Who would name their kid Dick Head?
I have an ex girlfriend named Treasure. I love that name, It took a while to grow on me but I really liked it especially once I got to know her. Unfortunately, her last name is Hunter, Treasure Hunter.
My buddy had a girl named Amanda Ryder. Said out loud: a man to ride her.
And this is no lie, I know a brother and sister named Amanda Hunt and Mike Hunt. Said out loud: A man to hunt my cunt.
the weirdest one I've ever seen was a guy named Sloth. no last name, no middle name. ID says "Sloth". he was even weirder than his name suggests. he yelled at me for eating cheezits one day

I don't particularly care for my first name. When I was in the military and change bases, I was going to start using my middle name, a fresh start, but it never stuck. Oh well.

He was in with another Gyno Doc, Dr. Naples.
I had a dentist as a kid, Dr. Howell. He earned that name. He once held his hand over my mouth and nose to try and stop me from crying. I was like 6 years old! My Mom was pissed! If it had happened today he would be charged with assault!
The ones that irritate me are names like John Johnson, William Williams, Peter Peters, etc. Not very creative - just comes across as lazy on the parents end!
