But at the end of his amateur career, he got in a crash, and injured his shoulder. The surgeon that repaired it did not understand the demands of a young pro mx rider, and he did not tighten things up correctly. There have been troubles ever since.

Really tough break for the kid. Finally started getting healthy and here comes another setback.

I hate to see this stuff for any of these kids. AC has incredible talent and he is not a "crasher".

We are now hearing reports from MXVice, reporting from Geneva,that Adam escaped serious injuries, but did in fact dislocate his shoulder in his crash last night in Geneva. There is no word on the degree of his shoulder injury or his expected recovery time, but he is expected to return to the U.S. for a more thorough examination.

absolutely gutted if he cant race sx. i just want to see a full season of what he can do. when he busted the quad out in indianapolis before any of the 450 guys then said i thought it would be fun to be the rookie and nail the quad i lost my shit. i think their plan is to keep him light but if he had some more bulk muscle on him i think he'd he'd fare better injury wise. had a bad feeling about him racing geneva since it was announced. nobody got a video of the crash??

Saying that he should not have raced this race, is kind of like "not driving your car, because you don't want to wear out the tires". Maybe the riders who are accident prone should sit out A1 so they don't get hurt before the rest of the SX series events!

The only downside to our sport is the danger involved, much moreso at the level these guys are riding at...and the expectations from sponsors, teams, manufacturers, press & even fans. I know these guys do overseas off season SX out of contract clauses, and for extra appearance & purse money...and I get why a team or racer would do that, but as I posted earlier I don't get it on the level of a riders potential for getting injured just enough so that he can't recouperate fully before the A1 US SX opener to even participate in the first several rounds so that he loses most if not all his chance to finish the season where he is capable of finishing due to points loss...or, he is allowed to race A1 out of the pressures that be before he is 100% mended, and either crashes and reinjures himself or is never able to race at a competitive level because of the injury. Heck, look at Barcias crash and resulting concussion in France a little over a week ago. He was so lucky his upcoming season with JGR wasn't over right there before it started...not to mention his being fortunate that his career wasn't by being seriously hurt at a race that arguably means nothing. Now AC might have put himself on a couch instead of his bike when the gate drops at Anaheim next month.

But, these guys go into this with their eyes wide open to the very real possibilities of injury...or they should. I just think there should be some reconsidering before teams send their stars overseas. All this, IMO naturally.

He is still in intensive care last I heard. Vital signs are good. No spinal or kneck damage.

If I remember correctly he separated the same shoulder numerous times on minis. That's where it all started.
