Mixed emotions here. Now I'm not sure whether to be more jealous of Newman or Dirtysmile??? J/k

Love the updates. May your project be trouble free and on budget!

Thats a nice wall hanger lurking your property..! Id be setting up some food plots looks like oregon has some nice looking deer.. Ive been hunting in Western PA for 18 yrs and ive only ever seen one 10pt hunting and spotted a 13pt.. PA lacks the big buck. A lot of the guys i work with take hunting trips up to Saskatchewan or head west toward Kansas or further.

I have garage envy especially with a track thats priceless!

This is all some truly amazing photoshop because there's no way any place could be this awesome.

Hey Patrick, from the view off the roof you should put in some theater seating up there for guests to view the track!

Awesome place you have going there. Can't wait to see the after photos.

When you get the lighting figured out, let me know what you chose. I need to come up with a better solution for my 50' x 50' shop. It just swallows the current lighting and as I get on in years, I hate dark and shadowy areas when I am trying to work!

Lighting! That is my biggest quandary . I want to not fuck it up! I am researching. My electrician says go T-8 fluorescents. I'm thinking if I do, put shiteloads of them in. Ceiling height is 16'.

Is that bay on the right going to be for an RV? That is a sweet setup. You could put a race hauler in there!

I am raging with envy over this. Bend is my dream town. I drive through it a couple times a year on the way to my parents in roseburg. In addition to location, you've got the shop, the track, and the big deer. That's everything on my checklist. I hope to be in bend one day, but property is a fair bit more costly there than in Utah. Congrats on your property and shop, looks great.

That Last Buck was very nice. What special permit do I need to apply for to shoot those deer? Is there a late permit hunt for this Bad boys in your area?

BTW nice shop, and I love how you used the natural terrain you have for your track!

T-8 LED lighting, eliminate the balast for one, no UV second. Third uses a bit over half the energy of the 32 watt flourescents.
And last they are rated for 20-30000 hours versus the 2000 hours out of a standard fluorescent T-8. You can find the bulbs on ebay for about 11$ a piece.

I don't hunt much, but when I do I go with the bow. I love lobbing arrows! I've got a herd of does that keep eating my new lawn, they are learning the sting of the blunt tip arrow Smile

^^^ THIS

LED is the only choice, for all the reasons mentioned. They are also WAY brighter than standard fluorescents. I haven't seen them for under $45.00 a tube, but I work in the Motion Picture Industry, so everything is overpriced for our industry. $11 each would be a NO BRAINER, IMO

Here are a few pics that I've taken from the porch at our place. We moved into the new house in May of '13. We lucked into this piece of land and enjoy every second up here. I hope you guys enjoy them.

This picture is of Mnt Jefferson with Black Butte in the foreground. You can just make out the fire lookout on Black Butte.

This is Broken top at the end of summer . The snow gets pretty light by this time of year.

THis is a cool one of Broken top at Sunrise with South Sister looming in the background

Another cool one of Broken top. It's amazing how differently the same mountain looks with the changing light.

My wife took these last fall when we first cut the track in.

Here's a couple young bucks battling in the same corner the pic before is taken in Smile

This one is our local ski area Mount Bachelor with Tumalo butte to the Right of it. Tumalo butte is a popular back country hiking area, you can make it up there pretty quick and knock out some fresh turns.

Priceless DS56! From the scenery, location & everything that surrounds a place like that makes for a perfect lifelong project.

God bless

I like the aggressive cornering by those two bucks. Nothing wrong with a little bar banging.

I love that area. we have family that lives up there my wifes cousin works for the gas pipeline so he has a great job that you would not normally find up there. if I could find a good paying job in my occupation I would have moved years ago and every time I go there the same thoughts run thru my head. lake detroit and the metolius river area are beautiful too

Yep, the door height is 14'3" and the bay is 42' deep complete with sewer dump in the slab. It will also have a water and electric hook up in the wall as well. I only have a 28' toyhauler but I thought if I ever sold it or bought a bigger motorhome I might as well set it up right the first time. I am building a pretty large enclosed shed roof off the left side of the shop where I will keep the 5th wheel most of the time but when needed I'll bring it in. There will be a bar complete with kegerator going in as well Smile
