From what I here it's Yamaha that's pulled the support.....perhaps something to do with all then dnfs and problems this year with that fancy cosworth engine.
From what you hear Yamaha pulled support.... HAHAHA I call total BS on that one Wink

Hows this sound for a reply.... Yamaha DID offer support for 2015 and note that Yamaha's ONLY overall MX2 win in 14 was with Dixon & Max. Yamaha management in Europe pushed a team that has a clear history of producing fast bikes to race a new model WELL before it was fully developed and ready to race... FYI the factory team in GP's had the 14 model 250 well before the 13 season ended. Dixon's team didn't get a 2014 model bike for development till mid January 2014. Note the first GP was March 1st (2 months is not much R&D time) so now why do you think they started the season on the 13 model? Need I remind you of the 2 holeshots at MXON in 2013 versus MX1 & MX3 bikes? See photo below

As for the DNF's if the team was so bad why did Anstie still push his bike back everytime he had a issue and stay with the team for 2015 when they changed brands while he had MANY offers from other teams?? As Team Green said there is much behind the scenes and what people think they know or hear from someone who knows someone... Funny how people at Lommel think the bike was fast (I would guess Wink it was de-tuned some for the lommel conditions) also keep in mind they started with a production based unit (the factory teams 250 bike uses a one off non production head among other things) so in theory it could be raced in AMA if they wanted just have to set up for AMA sound and fuel rules (that would make it faster). Maybe some didn't notice the starts of the Puerto Rico MX2 rider at MXON this year.... that would be the other Martin brother Alex who happen to be on Max's bike Wink . I find it funny when outside people make dumb statements they know nothing about. The Bottom line is the 15 season in GP's is looking like it will be great for many to watch.

Interesting thread.

Another reminder of how little importance horsepower is if the motor can't finish the race.

@dilligaf. I visit some GP's this year. (Valkenswaard,Maggiora,France,Loket and Lommel. You can be funny talking about it, but that thing was hauling ass at Lommel. In all other GP's i have not seen that yamaha looked and sounded that good that it was at Lommel. I dont know what they did, but the did it real good. If its true they de-tuned the bike what you said, they should have done that way earlier!

Lets hope they get everything back on track next year with the Kawi. Max racing upfront is great to see and never scared to bang some bars! Bring on!

Cosworth engines seem to absolutely rip, even state side. Cosworth was building Star Yamaha bikes a few years back and they were rocket ships when Swanny won at Southwick, as well as Osbourne across the pond and then in SX on his Yamaha's. I remember talking with Zach at ClubMX and he couldn't say anything but good things about how stupid fast his bikes were. It will definitely be interesting to see how they work with the green bikes, my Kawasaki's have been amazing and 11/10 did my race bike and it is the fastest 250 I've ever gotten ride so I'm sure with development they will be impressive. It looks like Kawasaki (aka Monster) really wants a big chunk on the GPs (that they sponsor [Monster]) this year.

Yea well done smart ass .....we both clearly heard different things. And no one said the bike was slow only that it was clearly unreliable, max couldnt even get the bike started till the 5 sec board was down at lommel then in the second race I think it was he had to nurse the bike home (pretty sure it was)

I heard that they went after some other US based team/s and that they were a fan of going big with all the internals, as in ports, valves and cams and not so much about power delivery. Explains the big numbers and unreliable nature, if true.

Have to say that I'm really enjoying this thread also with some good insider input. More moto, less TMZ.

There's some insider input in here, one poster is involved with the team actually.

Sort of guessed that to be the case. A little too knowing. Thanks for your input and don't be scared to share more. Much appreciated.

At Lommel , after the bike didnt light up on the gate , Anstie had one lick left before the gate dropped , and it went and so did he .. think was a missile , race 2 , and we left the Dixon pit that late that we almost missed the warm up lap , and the bike was still in bits , god knows how he made the race, thought there were parc ferme rules but apparently they made it , didnt do the warm up lap , and Max rode the race with a throttle that didnt want to shut properly.. so i was told later.

I just hope that Max doesnt waste another season being on the wrong bike at the wrong time , Yamaha 14, Gariboldi Honda 13, Suzuki in 12, CLS bike in 2011 was the best thing he's had in GP's , and he didnt get the best out of that either.

Hope he steps up and carries on from where he left off in Lommel, its time .

They aren't Robinson Crusoe on that waiting deal. Apparently a lot of the magazines get the new models to play with well before the satellite teams actually do. Obviously magazine tests sell more bikes than winning racing does.

@benchracermx first you might have heard "things" but then your user name says it all Wink . I will say is that yes the team struggled much of the season and the bike was labelled "unreliable" by many. However given the budget, size of team & fact they fielded 4 riders (1 in MXGP & 3 in MX2) the negative talk by some makes me crack up! IF people really had the slightest clue as to how advanced that bike was and developed in such a short time frame they would be shocked! The starting issue at Lommel in moto 1 was due to the unique nature of the electronics set up & a simple "brain fart" in start procedure (think Cosworth & F1 background). As for moto 2 lets just go with a electronic "gremlin" caused a bit of struggle after the TEAM swapped to a fresh motor for 2nd moto "just to be safe" as it was Lommel after all.

I want to point out that no one really talks about how the team builds the bikes up based from the same bike the consumer can buy. Many of factory teams don't use production platforms as they do not have a production rule like in the AMA. Anyone who has ever been to the teams shop typically leaves with the impression they just left a small motorcycle factory. Almost every part is built in-house as they have several cnc set ups, fabrication, engine room, suspension etc etc.

No probs man, u clearly know more than I do. Seems such a waste to have done so much development on the new yam for it all just to go to waste ( si to speak) and have to start all over on the kawi! Especially since they've been with yamaha so long.

CLS bike in 2011 was good?!

We must remember that year differently because all I remember is Tommy having to come through the pack week after week, trying to catch Roczen and Herlings after they started 1-2 on their KTM's
