Recently I have been battling with myself over glasses and or contacts.... I dont know, I guess some of you guys may know what i mean. You fight the battle within yourself over whether or not you need them or not.... Whether it be pride or whatever the reason may be, you dont really want to say you actually need something...
Well I have been fighting that battle recently and I think I talked myself into finally doing something about it. Does anyone here ride with contacts? pros, cons versus riding with glasses?

I had lazer surgery about two years ago and my vision has been perfect ever since.
I've worn contacts for almost 30 yrs now and have had no problems whatsoever with riding.
I almost forgot about the first time I ever wore laminated tear-offs, I reached for a tear-off in a double/double/double section. Instead of pulling across, I rushed and pulled straight out. It pulled my goggles straight out and then catapulted mud and dirt in my eyes right before the goggles slapped me in the face. Can't blame that one on the contacts though.
When you go get yours, a decent doctor will give you some samples to see how you like them. Try as many as you can. the various brands will DEFINITELY feel different and it is really important to get the type that are comfortable for you. Otherwise you are going to be fugging miserable.
it's an issue mainly when i'm reading or concentrating on something. i've also swatted at flies and bugs that aren't there...
as for riding in contacts, i've been doing it for 15 years or more. they've come out in my goggles many times, but pretty much only when racing. on my big Mexico ride, i carried eye-drops in my vest and put them in at every rest-point. riding in dust is bad enough, but it's even worse when you have contacts.
