Wow that is awesome man. I am hunting for a 96-98 KX125 or 95-97 CR125 and that makes me consider a YZ

Nice OEM graphics they hold up very well. You do not see many YZ's sporting the 96 graphics anymore let alone the navy blue plastics.

I actually never rode it. Bought it for 800. Did some bearings, tires, top end, and cosmetics and then sold it for 2,250.

Cheers guys. I've owned this bike since new but in 1998 I pulled it down to the frame for a rebuild and it sadly sat in boxes in a loft for 13 years!! It has had a full nut and bolt rebuild and all new engine internals.
I'm a big fan of the OEM look so NOS OEM radiator shrouds were sourced from the US and the decals are NOS Tecnosel.
The seat is a complete NOS OEM Yamaha item that I picked up off ebay here in the UK for £35 GBP!!

Some cracking builds on this thread. Keep em coming!!

No offense, but IMO sometimes the stock "look" bikes look better and cleaner than the blinged out ones.

I could not agree more. As proof, may I offer dogger315's 93. The man has a gift, when it comes to bike work.
Pure awesomeness.

To now this:

- Cycra Powerflow kit (blue), Cycra front disc cover, white Cycra number plates, WC skid plate, Renthal bars.
Now THAT looks sweet! I love a super sleek plain look. That front disc cover is really badass looking.

I've been thinking of buying a early to mid 90's bike to restore as a winter project and this thread has inspired me to do so.

Crush, if you look at dogger315's profile, you can see he has topped that work, as well. Took it back to the stock look, did a build thread on it, that's where I got that pic from. Lucky dogger, he has his own personal stalker on Vital. Lol The guys work is just phenomenal.

That's cool a lot of people don't know about the 02 swap for an old cylinder last year that cylinder will work on cr's. A lot better than the 01-02 cylinder. I run an 01 pipe on mine with a 02 cr 250 pipe mount in the bottom. I'm gonna try your trick next slitting the pipe. I punched mine out to a 134 and you wouldn't believe the power it makes. Nice bike.
