I agree with what most of this thread says....and that Malcolm deserves some sort of a ride. CP however......hasn't proven anything indoors. You can't handle the truth kid.

Malcolm is doing " exactly " what he needs to do , and that was go out on his own dime and prove why he deserves a 450 SX ride. Plenty of other guys that have had to put their own money out there to prove a point.

I'd say that this thread and my thread are both on point.
I agree with what you said - all of it - but alot of riders dont have the coin on hand to buy a factory bike from the last season and go race each weekend, never mind a possible whole season.

Hats off to him for doing it though it does show he is serious.

So, Malcolm has a good showing at the straight rhythm race, in which he most certainly had an exact replica to practice on with Brother James and a fairly good ride at the very level playing field of a track at last nights MEC and you think he deserves a factory ride???
This years factory rides were decided because of last years results and Mookie deserves to be exactly where he is this upcoming season.
If he can carry last nights ride, all the way through the 2015 SX season, maybe a top 7 for the year, he probably will get a good ride for 2016. If a spot opens up during the season and he is doing well, maybe he can get a temporary ride like Weston Peick got last year, which carried him into a full JGR ride.
Right now, Malcolm is where he belongs!
I agree with this. Not to mention the MEC is only 10 laps, the Red Bull race is only one. I still think everyone and their mother knows there is something fishy about why he never tried to get back on a bike in MX this year and that is the biggest cloud he has hanging over him - even lower than his mixed results.

Does anyone know how many main events Mal has finished last SX season without either a crash (on his own)...... or had an altercation with another rider?
Just curious?

Everyone here is digging pretty deep to come up with reasons why he doesn't have a ride or shouldn't have one..
I like to look at the positives, he is riding great, beat up on many established "factory guys".. He deserves a good ride period..

Some of you are so transparent its ugly..

Malcolm is this years Weston Peick.

A lot of similarities between the two riders in their on track performances, and on track attitudes that have affected their sponsorship and support.

Everyone was going coocoo for cocopuffs because weston didnt have a factory rider getting top five finishes outdoors in 2013, and then same thing through supercross this year. Guess what he did different? He kept his mouth shut, grew up a little, stopped throwing temper tantrums and plugged the sh!t out of his sponsors he did have. Everyone knew weston rode for fly/motosport. That led into RCH for outdoors. He did his job, didn't get into fights, kept his results strong all year. That led into JGR. It happens that fast.

Malcolm needs to review the weston peick playbook over the last two years. The difference being that weston was never on a legit 250f team like malcolm was. He fell from grace a little. If he's serious, keep your mouth shut, go racing with big brothers and dads help through the backdoor, and put together a strong privateer sponsor package. Then go put it to the boys. Consistent top 5's, and top 10's on your bad nights, will land him a ride. It just isnt going to happen right now. The teams and riders are signed and locked in. Unless there is a major injury to a team (which usually happens) before A1 he needs to forget the team ride and create his own success right now.

I certainly hope not, that would be really lame if Mookie is leaving the series.

This might piss some people off, but I wonder how much his race and appearance have to do with it. I believe some of the people behind the scenes in this sport are not exactly the most progressive.

I think it's a valid question folks should honestly be asking themselves... I think its a ugly reality in today's world.

thats a valid question...his long dreads and free spirit may rub people the wrong way. peresonally?... i would gladly pay money to watch him race and i think he brings alot of flair to the sport. he has a ton of raw speed. just obviously needs to find consistentcy.

2 things held him back for this year for getting a ride

1) to many "I would rather be fishing" comments
2) missed races from dehydration

Whats that say about Reed's shitty attitude? Oh yeah, he's a previous champ even if he rides around in 13th

I am a fan and enjoy watching him out there with the 450 class. I want to see him get some support but I believe that all of the missed rounds this summer hurt him.

The guy wads it up to much and the extra baggage makes him not a good candidate for a good ride.

Not every week.

You go back and look, Mookie is very fast but seldom finish's at the highest spot he got to. like get into top 5 crash and end up 8-12th. Then you got him pushing riders 2 times and then you got the James Drama 24/7

No conducive to good prospects.
