I was still able to have a little fun that weekend (couple weekends ago):

First lap of the weekend, in the rain:

I wish it would rain every single track day.

Yeehaw!

We were on our way home from our family reunion today and Chris was heavy on our hearts. I'm not much into signs but this is pretty weird. We stopped to eat, check out our order number:

Man Void, you are one amazing man. My heart aches to put myself in your and your families shoes.

I'm not much of a "sign" guy either, but maybe, just maybe Chris is saying things are going to be ok, and he misses you too. I think it's ok for it to mean that, no matter what you believe. Smile . Hugs mister.

It seems more than coincidence. Especially since my best buddy and his wife went golfing for the first time after this happened and they were given cart #74. He sent me a pic of it in the text. He was also good buddies with my boy and my boy was a pretty good golfer. He had 2 recognized hole in ones. My buddy is a pretty new golfer but when he and his wife got cart #74 and he pulled up to a par 3 hole he looked up and asked my boy for a little help.My buddy hit it and it bounced off the flag stick and landed about a foot from the hole. He said that's the best shot he's ever had. Isn't that weird?

I absolutely believe that sometimes there are signs like this.....the bond is never broken between father and son.

Stay strong, Void.

My son is turning 5 this weekend. I'm going to hug him extra hard tonight after re-reading this thread.

Hey Void. I obviously haven't been around for a long time so I didn't know. I am so very sorry for your loss. The tribute looked like it was great. Stay strong brother.

Todd: I still have no words that I can think that would help in this time. I'm glad you are holding out well. I know it will get easier but I can't imagine how. I also know I wouldn't be half as strong as you've been.

Much respect my friend.

It really hasn't gotten better yet. I still break down at least once a day. Some days several times. Getting on the forums helps a bit.

After looking at your bikes and the front brake guard you ran, your bikes look super clean and honestly your son couldn't of been on better equipmeant.
You took him to the track which is way safer than on the street.
I'm sure that doesn't make you sleep better.
My dad and I did multiple motorsports together and those are some of my favourite memories!!
So know that your son was proud of how fast his father was going.

You've already proved yourself to be much stronger than I think I would be. Hang in there and on the bad days remember that the logic of your statement means that, by definition, most days are much less difficult. Don't give in to the darkness, there's nothing there for you.

Thanks Scottie, you too! Hope you have a great Christmas and New Years!

Void I hope your heart can feel slightly lighter through these next few days of holiday celebration. Your son looked to be well versed on the machine and not many father-son relationships are able to do on machines together as you both did in that practice. God bless you and may your holidays allow you to celebrate the great relationship you shared with your son for so many years.
