Nice find Bruce!! On the bike and the bars! That 96 sure is clean.

I'd still take a set of polished bars if I could find a set.

My memory is foggy but did I email you back about the graphics?

Hi Col,

Yes you sorted me out with some graphics at the beginning of the year.
There still in my wardrobe untouched.
If I find another set of polished bars on my travels I'll let you know.

To answer your questions, this forum is primarily in the US, although as with you, there are posters from all over.

PC has been known to make a Works Pipe on a custom, one-time basis. This involves a telephone call and some luck... They (this is just my experience) really only want to deal with new 4 stroke stuff.

If you have to get a works finish pipe, try DEP in the UK. They make them and it will be a heck of a lot easier and cheaper for you to get.

I watched the video. For the trail riding you do, you will better off with a stock pipe or an FMF Gnarly (which is chrome coated). You need a low-end pipe, any pipe other than the Gnarly (which is made for trail riding) or stock is going to take away some low.

Your bike is fairly quiet and I didn't hear anything wrong with it. If you need it louder, you'll need a different silencer, it looks like your silencer has a spark arrestor and is made to be quiet.

Quiet is not a bad thing for a trail bike. I'd stay with what you have.

Thanks for answer @barkhard696. Smile I whant to change my pipe because it's old and it's broke after some crash. Unsure
I prefere Pro Circuit because Jeremy MC Grath had the same pipe and I like that my motorbike is "replica".

I understand that you say and I think that all you say is correct.

Now I tray again to answer to Pro Circuit if they product a Work Pipe for me. If is not possible I buy DEP Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

I don't know it's possible in this forum, but i charge some pics of my motorbike in order of time that I buy taht.
I say excuseme for my bad english.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about the stock Honda pipes. Cam Potter-- a former national mechanic-- only runs stock on his super cherry '95. I'm not sure why most folks think MC ran a PC pipe, maybe it's because of the association with Team Splitfire from the early '90s?

It's slang.

Like cool, sweet, wicked, boss, ace, lush, sick, dope (or whatever's in nowadays)

Just means awesome. (But late 80's early 90's multi-colour dayglo awesome)

Are they just removing the PC badges from the pipes?

>Are they just removing the PC badges from the pipes?

Nope.

PC was not a sponsor of his during this time (1993-6). He wouldn't run a PC pipe unless he was paid to do so. MC used either full HRC pipes or unfinished stock. He would run a variety of pipes depending track conditions and so on, but either way, stock or HRC sourced the pipe.

The bikes in the garage of his house are reproductions. He's running a PC pipe on the 1996 reproduction likely because his personal connection to PC means he got this pipe for free.

That's kind of what I figured.... In my mind, the question was more rhetorical in response to the PC claim. The written word is good at losing it's tone and meaning... haha

I went with his test pipe for my build, just love all the welds! Local South African chap who dabbles in the dark arts of pipe forming...

Thanks Barkhard - trying to finish up build before 1 Nov for Monster Energy supercross at Loftus (the first time in years - josh/grant hill and a few other US boys, OZ boys coming down to show us how its done).
Here are a few after some scotchbrite - I would have left welds but want to keep to MC example.

Wow, that build is coming on strong! Did you have the shifter fabbed? I know from talking to DJ you're not playing around when it comes to the details.. I guess those are the plastics you guys worked a deal on? Awesome stuff.

Mc pipes- all of his pipes were works hrc, not stock.. he used cone pipes in Supercross because they could produce the exact shape he liked for the exact hit he wanted. Mcgrath had 6 different pipes that he would test routinely. They used the other hrc pipes (that look very similar to raw stock) mainly for outdoors only because they were thicker and much stronger (mainly from roost not a crash). But occasionally MC would run them for sx (like daytona) for the outdoor type power delivery as well as the strength.

Thanks for clearing it all up! I did find it hard to believe McGrath would be running a stripped stock pipe...

That cone pipe you've had made OneDay is the nuts! Keep it up!

These are all HRC pipes, no "raw stock" pipes. Stock pipes weigh over a ton and these HRC pipes are very thin and light. No way Team Honda would spend $5.000,- on ti hardware and put back on that heavy stock pipe... Pictured below is my cleaned up 2001 HRC pipe.
