I just got word that Bremen Mx in Bremen GA is closed? Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? I was looking forward to riding there Sunday.

I have a friend involved with a BIG series Georgia track and he told me that was the rumor going around. Obviously I will give them a call tomorrow. This just came as a shock to me tonight.

Any word today on Bremen's status? I hope that rumor is not true.

Attendance isn't what it used to be. Same shit we talk about, jobs less available than before and those that remain are often temp, contract and/or lower paying. That and you can't buy a new, affordable dirt scooter anymore. Once used markets dry up we'll hear more rumors and actual closings.

Truly bad news if true.
They were talking of wanting to get a national at their new location (as of 5-6 years ago)

When king was still alive. He told us they lost about a million dollars on the new location thing. Apparently there is a national caliber track back there. There is just no way to get to from the main road without going over someone's property

I called this morning and didn't get an answer. The website says they're on for practice tomorrow so we will see. I will give them a call before I head out that way in the morning.

I rode it after it got marked out (no jumps, grass track style) place was so badass! Hills for days and the dirt was incredible. You had to drive about 2 miles back up and down huge hills just to get to the track.

He bought that land when the local school was in the process of purchasing the current bremen track until that fell through and he was stuck with two tracks again. (My understanding)

King was very good people, he's missed by everyone. Bremen was one of the biggest tracks in ga for at least 10 years now it's a ghost of it's former self. Track itself is still decent.

The best dirt and best track prep of any tracks in Ga that have practices on a regular basis. Where was the new track located? I tried to find it on maps but didn't see anything close by.

The phone is useless now days. Best to use facebook or their actual site. We rode there maybe 5-6 weeks ago and no hint of anything like this.

Gringoe: You are right about them being the best. We stayed at that track from 04-06 like every other weekend. A Saturday night moto-madness night could bring in 300 racers. I still enjoy going there to ride.

Hell back during that time we got to see some great stop by, Broc Tickle, Tyler Bowers, Zach Osbourne, Nico Izzi, Matt Walker. So many big names used to show up there on any given weekend.

About the only track open and prepped regularly right? Id put aonia's ghost of years past up against bremens Silly Monroe has been good lately for what it is.

It was about twenty minute north if I remember. You couldn't find anything because it was only a track layed out in a field for a short period of time (maybe a year?) and then didn't get touched again and I'm sure everything grew over.

Most of the good stuff in ga is private

I remember Sat night moto madness, ran a few of those myself. Also remember Tuesday & Thursday night practice under the lights, on the SX track.

Jase was the fastest I ever clocked on that track and I timed everyone back then. Yeah I remember Izzi passed Jase in both their motos. That bike Jase was riding was a bone stock clapped out 04 CR125 and it was no match for izzi's 105. Now on Jase's regular bikes he was 3-4 seconds a lap faster than izzi. I think I heard Jase was racing some woods stuff now days and doing well in those but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I bought my first 250f from Jase step dad back in the day.

Yeah I remember those. I want to say tue was for little bikes and thur. ended up being for big bikes. At least it was at one time. I think they tried several formats for tue and thur nights back then.

We have been to a few thur night practices and a couple moto madness races this year. Man did I get to spend a lot of time with my sons back in those days. Lots of memories made at that track for us!!

Well what I feared has been confirmed. Next weekend will be the last race at Bremen Mx. They will have occasional practices through out the rest of the year and after December 31st there will no longer be a Bremen Mx. Sad days.

Edited for spelling.

Damn! I hate to hear that. This was once THE track to race at. Lot of memories I formed with my sons there and just this year I took my grandson to race two races there. It always felt like we were going home when we went to ride there! Hate to hear it!!

Well I've never been there (too far away) but it really sucks. So many Ga, SC, NC tracks have turned to pasture and it's a damned shame. How long 'till Aonia finally dies? That used to be a cool place too. Fourstrokes, noise, gas prices, economy....so many negatives to keep the positives alive.

Here is their post from facebook. Sad to hear it happen. I love riding and racing there. The Kelly Family was always great and put together a great track with a great atmosphere. I know that I'm going to be there this weekend.

Could it be marked on google earth? I'm looking to locate the national caliber track it'll be cool to check out.
