RV: "I want out of the last year of my contract. My knee is fucked, i'm just over this shit. I won't be ready for SX, so there goes my championship bonus."

KHI: "We can let you out of the contract, but you'll forfeit __________ in pay, and the penalty for breaking contract is ______."

RV: "That's a lot of money. What are my other options? GP season starts in late Feb? Can I race that?"

KHI: " That's a possibility. Paulin is going to Honda. We are re-signing Sykes over at WSBK, let us see what we are going to pay him, then we can talk about getting you over to the GPs."

(insert 2-3 months of bullshit conjecture over the summer, a lot of which turned out to be true, combined with Luongo and Geoff Mayer sending each other dick pics in mutual excitement)

KHI: "Yea, we can make that happen. How does $12M sound?"

RV: "I'll start looking for a house and some capris."

You’re here watching the GP, is that something you’ve ever thought about doing, riding the GPs?

"Maybe. Me and my wife have thought about coming over and living in Europe and then racing, but as of right now I have three more years in the states, and then I’ll sit back and re-evaluate my career and where I’m at and then maybe come over"
Lies!!!

And seriously, you can stick a dreamhouse in Crewe, doesn't mean it's a cool place to live...

There are tons of people who save their money for years, to then be able to go see Europe and other parts of the world. Just for the sake of doing it. To be able to get out and see the world, experience a whole lot of different cultures, all while racing dirt bikes, is basically a dream come true.

I've always respected Ryan's abilities to race motocross & supercross and win championships, but making this move gives me a whole new level of respect for him. I think it's awesome for him and his family.

maybe he just needs a change of scenery. seems like he's been burnt out here the last couple years racing every weekend. the GP schedule is much more stretched out.

good for him.
I think you may be on to something. I think it's just as personal as it is professional. He just is little burnt out here in the US. Wants to enjoy racing again maybe and travel a different country and it's culture in the meantime. Then possibly get a world title under his belt.

the first line was sarcastic Wink .... the second line referred to your Lommel-house video and the fact that just because they have nice houses there, doesn't change the fact it is a horrible place to live

When you think about it, butt patches are definitely one of the most bizarrest things about this sport.

I agree, Belgium is a tax haven and Lommel is the first place at the Dutch/Belgian border
My advice would be Eindhoven or Den Bosch but I'm biased, or one of the millionaires villages close to the city of Antwerp
(for example Brasschaat)

Pretty obvious to me. 1 World title would trump multiple National titles

What's up with Crewe? Home of Rolls Royce, Bentley Motors etc. It's a great place, I was born there!

My advice would be to completely avoid Belgium/Holland and either live somewhere with good weather and interesting things to do (Italy / south of France) or somewhere where he can actually understand the majority of the people who live there (UK)

there are plenty of motocross tracks all over and seeing as it's just Lommel on the calendar, sand training isn't as necessary as it once was. I think the days of riders having to live at Lommel are coming to an end... riders are much preferring to live where they want to live and train from there

And Rob, never been to Crewe, but I figured it was just like Hull..... and basically anywhere north of London Wink

Most riders are already in southern Europe during the winter "my vote goes to Marbella"
that said, training during the summer in southern Europe no thanks
and most of the race shops are located in the Benelux aka motocross maffia Wink

If he's getting paid as much as some folks are saying he can probably afford a place at Sandbanks in Dorset. He'd need a Freeride E (with green graphics) for the sand training though.

The dude has to be lucky there is no Lierop on the calendar next year, but only Lommel as a sand track.
Otherwise he would need to be 24/7 on the sand tracks in netherlands and belgium.
Also him not having his private track and facilities would be one of the biggest challenges for him, because practicing on tracks in europe as a pro rider is slaloming around and jumping over amateur riders!
