Yea Team Ireland has been thrown into turmoil . Last night Irwin took to social media to say if the team couldn't get a pass for his fiancée he won't go. The MRA gives out a lot of passes to others but limit the rider to 2 passes for family I believe, anyway MRA must not have liked the threat and so Gordy is now being flown out.

Very annoyed that Irwin won't be riding but glad Crockard was a least chosen to replace him... Hopefully GC can roll back the years and put in another good mxdn performance so we can beat Canada !

I doubt that there will be any shortage of MCUI blazers there .... be interesting to see what the team says ... they must be well on route by now .. or is there more to it than that maybe ??

I don't know Phil. In the press release they sent out to announce team Ireland, they called Irwin "a crasher" in it so obviously he wasn't too happy with that, probably has added to it. The riders normally fly out on Thursday before the race the past couple of years but you would think the bikes would already be on there way. Will be interesting to see if honda will help Gordy out with a bike or if he will have to find a way to get his own over

I'm going with GB on the 20th anniversary since the last time we did it!! Nobody thought we would do it then and it seems the same this year too so balls to it!!!

GO ON GB!!! Put the Great back into Britain!!!......or at least see if you can find it in Latvia!!!

Have to agree with you there. It would take nothing less than a miracle for Germany to be on the box. No Roczen so they replaced him with Schiffer, Schiffer got injured so they replaced him with Henri Jacobi and I read on Vurbmoto this morning that Jacobi may way be injured now as well, so who knows? May end up seeing EMX125 champ Brain Hsu on the MX2 bike for Germany. Be a great opportunity for a very talented kid

I think there's more to it...I've not seen the PR about Irwin being a crasher though?! Probably didn't help.

Sounds like the MCUI just use it as a jolly and give the riders one pass for their mechanic. Poor show really and I agree with Irwin, must have taken some balls to decide to not race the MXdN.

And well done to Crockard for stepping in after being told 3 years ago that he was too old to ride for Ireland. Have to wonder what they are playing at over there

I doubt if Cairoli will be able to beat Tomac/Dungey on a 250. I do believe he will give them a good fight but in the end USA wins :-D
1. USA
2. Belgium
3. France

Man those frenchies look really good to me.
If Musquin was in the MX2 spot many people would probably see them among the favourites - I wouldnt underestimate Ferrandis though (I'd have picked Tixier and Musquin before him but he's still fast)

With so many top guys out I'm more interested in seeing how Jeremy does against AC if he can start with him. I know, I know, AC is brilliant, but if the track is similar to Jeremy's home track like everyone keeps saying he may very well fly on it. When he is feeling it I think he can hang with anyone. Plus, who knows how Tony will do dropping down to a smaller bike? People always say "Oh man, James changed his bars and is two seconds a lap faster on his track!" and shit like that, so I really don't buy into that talk. McGrath was flying on his KTM too as I recall...

As for the running order, USA, followed by France (my heritage) and then Oz (my wife's heritage).

absolutely awesome to see crockard out there again! the guy is a true legend of the sport. Be so cool to see him in the main show- although ireland normally end up in the B final!

how cool would it be if gordy rolled up on his cr 500?!!

Barr, Edmonds and Gordy are determined to have a lie in on Sunday morning this year!Cool

Btw my predictions

1-France
2-USA
3-GB

....tho I might be a bit foolish leaving Belgium off the podium

i cant see anyone else winning it other than those 3 and belgium- i think all belgium would need is lieber to get one of those lightning starts and keep it on 2 wheels. He's the real wildcard for them, very fast but seems to be a little on the edge most of the time!!!

All the above mentioned teams have 3 riders well capable of being top 3-5 each moto- bit of luck and anyone could take it this year!!! I'm excited to see tommy race the 250- he's been absolutely flying on it in training, i think he will be right up there and might even give cairoli a run for his money this weekend!!! deano needs to show us all what he is really capable of, and simpson just needs to avoid the sh@tty luck he's had the last couple of mxdns!!!

i think paulin will be the man to beat in mx1- he's had his fair share of bad luck this year so will be out there feeling like he has something to prove- his last race on the green machine too, same with frossard! both of them have had some terrible luck this year with injuries etc, both have just about enough time to be back to 100% fit for the event..

does anyone know what bike crockard is riding?! with it being so last minute can he get one of his bikes shipped over? knowing gordy he would be happy to be there and just throw his leg over anything thats available! i'd love to see the irish get a bit of luck and get in the main event this year- be a cool story for crockard being a last minute replacement then making the main show.

Not 100% sure but I think it might be 24mx honda that are giving him a bike. He rode a Belgium national for them this year and nearly got riding a gp for them too

At this point I can still say that Team Belgium is the current World Champion! Keeno , Jerre and MX Panda did a great job last year and I enjoyed the braggin' while it lasted Cool
Hope to see another great performance from our team. I think Julien Lieber needs to step up and do some damage Silly

Nothing wrong with some patriotism is there? It's not every day (year) you can call your country the greatest MX nation in the world...

That being said, it doesn't matter wich country wins this weekend, the team that has the least points takes the trophy home and
can be proud of it!

It aint over untill...

lets be honest here , usa chance of winning is super high than what it was cause this years teams , half of their stars are not in it due to injuries or changing teams
