I'm not sure we'll see the Dunge on the newly designed 450 for MXdN, but I would have imagined they would have released it, or have someone riding it by now. Anyone know when it's supposed to be released, or when someone will be racing one?

To me, it makes zero sense to have Dean Wilson ride the current model for a few weeks/months after MXdN, then get used to a second new bike once the 15 FE comes out. My guess is right after MXdN, but figured I would ask the experts.

I know nothing but was told pics coming soon? I would think Dungey would be racing it at Monster Cup?

For those that want to buy a KTM 450, do you feel like the regular 450 is a pile compared to the FE version? It's kinda like bait and switch. I'm sure the regular one is fine but the FE one "looks" way better.

This FE deal is a great way for KTM to have a way around the production rule and get their race team the absolute best bike quicker than the traditional way.

I am sure they don't think it is a pile compared to the current model but this model year (FE) is expected to be an 'all-new' bike. Other threads on here have hinted at revised engines and new frames and bodywork. I am sure many are holding out for the 15 FE to get their fix for the latest and greatest.

I have zero plans of buying a 15 FE. It does however change my decision on my next bike.

I have a '14 250 SX.... If the new FE isn't earth shattering Ill probably sell my 14 and get a fresh 15 250SX. If, however, the new FE is worlds and away different/better I'll want until that tech reaches the rest of the line in 16 and get a new 250 then.

And in addition to that, aquiring Husqvarna allows them to do this two-fold.

One of those "don't hate the player, hate the game" kind of things..

I might be missing something here but it is Husky that uses the "FE" Fourstroke Enduro designation.
The KTM variant would be the XCF or XCF-W
I do believe that since it is Huskys first year that Anderson will be able to take advantage of running a full on works bike.
I don't believe that Dungy will be able to get any added benefits being on a KTM

When we are saying FE we are referring to Factory Edition. In recent years KTM has released an FE model midway between standard model years.

Anderson's Husty is probably very close to KTMs current bike with a different business suit on.

The need to be in the states before A1. They don't have to be at the dealers, just in the states so that means they could be sitting on the docks. I would expect to see them in dealers around early February.

But with the factory edition, KTM can design a whole new bike for Dungey, make the 400 ( I think that's the number of production models needed) and get around the whole works rule. That's what they did when Dungey came on in 2012. Designed a whole new bike for him and sold it as the factory edition.

You mean in full compliance to the homologation rules, as every other OEM is free to do?

Well duh, but as of now only KTM has taken advantage of it. My point was ya, the Husky will be fully works, but KTM has shown that they can and will build a completely brand new bike for racing.

The fact that every dealer I have contacted said they have only been allocated 1 or maybe 2 standard 450s for 15 might be an indicator of things to come with the FE.... it's going to be a long wait until A1 to see it though as Manny is pretty dead on on these things!!!

Ok time to get off the pot and head to the track!!!'

Later dudes!

I hope they raise the price and make it more exclusive. Not just a March release of what they offer in June as the standard model.

As TeamGreen said, A1. If you watched any interviews with Dungey he has said this on more than one occasion.

You need to be SOOOOOOO CAREFUL of what you wish for...

They're making the number necessary for Homolgation & the "chat" is that the bike will have plenty of trick-bits; but, know this...it ain't cheap for them to do all this. That means...$$$ for the Factory Edition...LOTS OF $$$.

Most wise-Moto-heads would do well to be patient. The actual '16 should debut next summer...for LESS $$$.

I'm jus' guessin'....
