I'll see about the VForce next. Did you try it with the stock Posion Rad valve?
I didn't ride either of them but my two 2 buddy's that have the 14 250SX and the TC250 both rode their bikes stock and they both thought that their bikes weren't nearly as good as the 13 model with the Vforce on it. I rode the TC250 a cpl of Monday's ago at MX207 in ME and the bike flat out ripped. Very impressed.

Try ebay and it really doesn't have to be 125/150SX carb it could be any 38mm Keihin air stryker. I initially tried a 38mm from a 08 YZ250 just to see if the mod was worth while. The body was much larger than the stock carb and I really had to wedge it in there. The carb from the 13/14 125/150SX has the same body size as the stock 36 on our 250SX's so it fits in without any trouble or any mods to the airboot.

Good news! I ordered one from KTMpartshouse.com. The price listed in the link above is wrong as they charged me over $400 for the carb.

I find it strange that Motosport could not locate one but these guys had it in there facility the very next day. I hate paying inflated prices.

Did you inquire as to why they charged over $400 versus the $284.73 shown on the fiche? Heck, it even shows $284.73 as the price when I put it in my cart online.

If it was me, I'd ask why and ask to be refunded the difference.

There are a number of KTM parts sources that have that carb listed at that price.

I did call and the parts guy, Clinton, said he was going to talk to his manager about refunding some of the monies. They even charged sales tax on my out of state order.

ive been trying to get one from Hailey in parts for the last week, was supposed to get to them this week. never mentioned anything about it not being what was listed on their site either.
i'd be pissed if i were charged that much, might as well order it from someone else, everywhere else they are about 30$ more. but 400$ is ludicrous.

Well they refunded me the difference. Shouldn't of had to do it the hard way. In the future I will just use the web site and not call them on the phone. BTW, the carb should be showing up tonight via UPS.

Still confused.

Their website says "Free shipping on orders over $150 (restrictions apply)". The restrictions are usually oversized items like body panels or really heavy items. I can't imagine a carb being in that category.

Any explanation from them as to why no free shipping, or was this more of their same attention to detail like when you first ordered it?

He told me when I first called that there would be a shipping charge. I think it was because it was a "special order" item.

Thanks for the info - I'll keep it mind if i ever need to order from them because $20+ to ship a carb seems a bit much, even with today's rates.

Well installed the new carb and took the bike out last night. It really makes a difference. It starts easy, idles smooth as silk and pulls harder throughout the power band. It seems to have a little less bottom end but nothing drastic.

Thanks Digger for sharing this info.

Hello,
I will use Keihin 38 in my EXC 300. What do you think - what do I need to use - need needle, idling jet and main jet?

I think you be good to start with the jetting mentioned above. No reason why it wouldn't work on your EXC 300.

I recently found this thread and ordered up a 38mm carb for my 2012 250SX. Really added some much needed over rev and keeps pulling strong instead of flattening out.

Only reason I decided to post in here was to say that with my research, I suggest ordering a carb from a 2012 150SX. Not only are they the same carb minus some jetting but the 150s are cheaper for some reason. I suggest the 2012 because it comes with a 6.5 slide so you don't have to swap slides out of the 36mm carb.

Just for reference my jetting is a 45 pilot, NECJ (3rd clip), 182 main, air screw is 1 3/4 turns out. I run Renegade P95 race fuel with Maxima Formula K2 mixed at 32:1. Bike runs crisp, plug looks good, and no spooge.

That's great to know. Thanks for the info. My Sunoco guy is thinking about getting out of the fuel business and I'd love to try some Renegade 2 stroke race fuel. Where are you getting yours from?

I get my fuel from a local dealership, CC Powersports in Louisville, KY. I've seen some online places to order it from. I have thought about trying the SX2 but my engine is stock internally and I it takes me a couple months to go through 5 gallons of fuel and I'm afraid that it will go bad before I get to use it all. I've been very happy with the P95 over 93 octane pump that I was using.

I don't own a KTM, but I am curious as to why they chose to use a 36mm carb on the 250sx in place of a 38mm which seems to work so well, especially when they are already using the carb on smaller bikes?

Okay been trying to sort out the jetting for the 38mm carb for a while now and just found this thread. The bike is a 2013 KTM 300 XC-W and the the carb is from Blais racing with the JD jetting kit in it. Right now, for 2500-5000 feet from 85-99 degrees we have the bike jetted with a 38 pilot, 165 main and I think the needle is the blue one on the third clip. Would running the Suzuki needle clean up the jetting a little more? How are you guys basing your jetting? I race in the 5000-7500 area and found a good setting for their but have yet to get a good setting for where I ride most the time.

what fuel ratio are you guys running?

I'm at 2k ft. elevation.

I'm just trying to research as much as I can before I pick my new TC up here in a week or so.
