I highly doubt that Dungey would stoop so low as to take drugs.

I can only reference the rumors I heard, so I don't know for sure. But yes, there were rumors of strong arm tactics from the team.

It would make sense since only RC got his points back and not the privateers.

I guess that question was a throw away. Next question:

450 class?

I'm not trying to argue against your point, or throw accusations, or anything like that. I'm asking a serious question: "How do you know?" Do you have a personal relationship with him? I ask, because since I don't, I also don't like to set myself up for disappointment when it comes to pro athletes. Once again, not accusing anyone, not trying to discredit your opinion and/or your personal relationship with RD, if it exists. Just simply saying that nothing surprises me anymore in professional sports.

I thought Tiger Woods was pretty squared away until he drove his Escalade into a fire hydrant while hopped up on Ambien while his wife chased him with a 9 iron because she found out he had been nailing waffle house waitresses, porn stars, and anyone else in his path!

I have no more of a personal relation with Dungey than you do. I only know Dungey from meeting him at the races and
getting autographs and such. I've watched him race from the time RD plucked him out of the amateur ranks. However, I
am a good judge of character. I didn't say I knew 100% that he didn't take drugs I said I HIGHLY DOUBT it.

Heck, I don't care a lick about golf but even I had seen the vids and read the reports of his behavior on the course, along with the "rumors". Complete tool and reckless in his personal life.

It seemed like it was just a matter of time before something came to the surface.

Usually, where there's smoke, there's fire.

I've never seen any smoke around RD5... but maybe I'm not paying attention.

Behavior on the course, yes. But reckless in his personal life? Not that anyone knew except a few of his college buds. That was a shocker.

By the way, I'm not insinuating anything about Dungey. I have no idea. Just supporting hvaughn's point that one should be careful putting blind faith in a professional athlete.

We have another pro from around here - Dustin Johnson - who is no choir boy.

Perhaps knowing people who know him and having conversations with these people over the years provided me with info that wasn't common knowledge about Tigger? I never asked (like I said, I have zero interest in golf) but things would get mentioned from time to time that weren't flattering to Tigger. Maybe I was in the presence of "insiders" and didn't realize it (did I mention I couldn't care less about golf?). Combine that with the readily available vids of him throwing clubs and f-bombing on the course, etc, and I had no trouble believing what I heard and didn't realize most others weren't aware of it. It all seemed consistent to me.

Guess it shows he was getting his money's worth from the people in charge of protecting his image.

huge Dustin Johnson fan here.

took some forced time off after failing a test from marijuana use. his current exit is from cocaine.

hate to see such a great player and overall cool guy get into trouble with that shit.

as for Tiger, at his status i imagine turning down pussy is like turning down a free funnel cake at the fair. not gonna happen. i and many others would have done the same thing, it's just a shame it had to be public like it did. something like that should have been kept private.

here we go, off on a tangent. fuck it.

Okay, so here's the real deal. (I know people who know people.)

The testing lab wanted to trains some new lab technicians. So they asked the AMA for any old urine samples they might have so that these trainee technicians could run their usual tests on them. The AMA handed over some old, old frozen vials from wayyyyy in the back of the freezer (next to some long expired Ben & Jerry's). The tests game back for high, high levels of THC.

So now the AMA is in a quandary about what to do discipline-wise since it turns out the vials were from the 1977 Anaheim Supercross! Yeah, it seems that the long-heard rumors about a few main event riders stepping out to someone's van parked under the Big-A before the main are true!

From time to time DJ's dad stops in and buys booze at a store that belongs to a friend of mine. He was pointed out to me during one of these visits and some stories followed.

After hearing the stories and knowing the people who are telling them, the news of his "issue" came as no surprise. Like before, it just seemed like more of the same.

I do not have reason to suspect this at all, but what if the "amphetamine" that came up in "The Test" was a different type of amphetamine than we all assumed?

Tiger had the money to keep people's mouths shut. You buy enough of your friends Rolex's and gold Tag Huers...they don't see or hear NOTHING. Him being a complete narcissist and arrogant douche off the course was widely known.

The dustin Johnson story is pretty interesting. I'm a daily listener to the Dan Patrick Show and they had a little bit on DJ's situation a couple days ago. They mentioned some rumors of DJ fooling around with other players' wives and things of that nature, too. I wonder if this might be a "tip of the iceberg" situation for him. If so, I hate to see it.

How in the world did RD5 get drug through this? Let's imagine it's something to do with the guy that already got caught. Imagination is all this thread seems to have going for it.

This is why you cannot have a good conversation on the internet anymore.

HUH!!!!!!!!!

RCs problems where with fuel that he had nothing to do with when put in. Then it was learned that the fuel was actually absorbing lead from the can it was contained in hence it was VPs fault, thus reinstating RCs points. How this applies to what we are talking about is beyond me.

However, if RC was caught adding lead and oxygen to his fuel, then yes, zero tolerance and he should have been disqualified.

Zero Tolerance on cheating, yes.

Have no idea if you have ever been in charge of anything but do not know how you enforce "some" rules and not others without consistency and expect to be taken seriously.

Firm, fair and consistent is directly out of the leadership handbook.

What smelled about the leaded fuel penalty was that RC got his penalty reversed, while the privateers who had the same misfortune did not. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I remember it happening.

I don't consider that "consistent" nor "fair".

This is the type of behavior that let's the conspiracy theories grow legs with some people.

I was not standing beside RC when this happened but I have some friends that are factory mechanics so here it goes. Take it for whatever useless info you want.

From my understanding, VP delivered RCs fuel in closed containers and they were pouring it right out of the can and it was testing illegal. Suzuki pointed this out and stated if you are going to penalize RC for VP's fuel than Suzuki was going to be pissed and pull out.

The privateers who tested positive, I do not know the story but the bad fuel was not poured directly out of the can, hence there "could have been" tampering involved so they were penalized.

Also from what I believe is that RCs fuel was barely over the limit and everyone involved agreed that this minor amount would make absolutely not advantage so why do it. The privateers I think were a little more over the limit.

All that info is probably not worth a $2 steak but that's the rumor.

He went to the local HS a few miles from here so his "escapades" are well known to some.

How many are aware he was linked to a murder when he was in HS?

There are those who were convinced he was a changed man years ago, like in this article.

Not looking like he's changed that much with his latest issues.
