Thought I'd share these photos from Kevin Cole on Facebook.

Hawkstone Park, 1980s, 500GP weekend, before the crowds arrived.

The downhill (second photo, and the part on the right in first photo) is really steep at the top.

Strangely the track isn't anywhere near as sandy as it used to be, or indeed get anywhere near as rough.

And here's a video from 1986.

Enjoy the Braaap-ness. (You can pick out the sound of the RC500s amongst all the other bikes).

It's hard to appreciate how much that hill is just a big drop-off without standing at the foot of it for yourself.

That is a motocross track! I remember watching this on TV here in America,we were lucky to get the gp's for a year or 2 around this time.

The downhill is at 2.12 in that video. It looks like everyone is cruising but it really doesn't come across on TV how steep that is.

I've been lucky enough to ride Hawkstone a few times over the years, the hill is very long and steep and gets steeper as you go up.
Love Hawkstone, it brings back so many memories but Foxhills was the one to fear!
