Tedesco - Last Lap No Helmet

Anyone hear about or see Tedesco ride the last lap of the 2nd 450 moto - apparently at speed, jumping jumps - with no helmet? Heard about it on the Budds Creek Review Show. The AMA lit into him after the race.

Can't find a single blip about it using a google search for anything within the past week that contains "ivan tedesco budds creek 2014 last lap helmet" ...doesn't mean it didn't happen, just would think this would already be on the net somewhere by now...

Not sure how a vet like Hot Sauce could do something so foolish, knowing how much backlash he'd face from RC, DC, etc.. Not to mention how awful of an example it is for the kids..

Interested to hear the final word here..

My son and I saw him with his helmet on his forearm at the rollers section before the finish line jump, about 1/3 speed, towards the end of the 2nd moto, with a smile on his face....

From what I saw, Tedesco ran no helmet from the downhill before mechanic's area to the finish line. Helmet was around his elbow and he was on the furthest edge of the track. I saw an Ama or Mxsports official stop him right after exiting the track. I'm sure he was just overheated and had to figure out a way to finish.

They used to do sighting laps at the TransAm's without helmets. Of course, back in the '70s, things were much cooler. For example, people rode two strokes. True story.
