Do you feel you stepped up your riding now that you have the brace? Some of the injuries that break these things I gotta question. Wow what the hell were you thinking?
I knock on wood, I have gone over the bars but it has been minor. My worst accidents have involved my limbs.
I thank my lucky stars for a great ortho.
I will say this, if you are putting yourself in harms way, you need every protective element you can get.

It did make me feel confident in the fact that I did purchase a quality piece of equipment that fits me very well, and is more comfortable than those EVS neck nuggets I was wearing for a few seasons prior to purchasing the Leatt.
I did crash on my head one day, and I'm not going to say the Leatt saved me, but I will say, I was happy I had it on.
I have tucked and rolled on every over the bars crash I have had. I also dont have a neck so Im sure that helps. For those that do have necks I can under stand it. My shoulder cups press against the helmet when I do auger.
Seeing the results of crashes where the brace has fractured or broken bones, not knowing the force it makes me think some of these crashes are at top speed. Again im a full on spode so even if I do go over its not fast. Im not trying to make the jumps where its do or die. Even equating a bike malfunction. Im racing for plastic, if I dont win the shiny man on top of marble Im good. I do think it needs to be hashed out some more. The idea is solid just the sub strait to me is too solid.
I lost a really good friend to a neck injury in 1999, although he didn't break his neck he crushed his windpipe. Anything that can help protect about the little freak accidents that do happen is worth having IMO.

However, if I were to forget it at home, I would now probably have a hard time riding or riding as aggressively without it.
I crash a lot and some times scared of getting run over.
I've seen it bad to many times.
I started late in life and can not stand just riding in the back or getting hurt.
If i was lying in a hospital bed and being told i would never walk again, i would of wished i had used the protection made available to us riders to help prevent these problems.
We are in Australia and Bronte Holland, one of our up and coming fast guys was paralysed after landing on his head without a brace on..
I will never ride without some sort of neck protection.. neither will my children.
