I miss a lot of you guys too, not to make this a love-fest, but you can see why I don't hang around here anymore. It's not the cool ones that made me want to leave. And I know there were rumors about me stopping on the boards because of orders from DC, but that's BS. He actually wondered why I got off the boards. Anyway, take it easy, guys. Don't believe any of this crap that pops up - especially if it's attributed to me.

I laughed when you said it's because of the "kooks".

You're a moto brotha... but you were pretty close to be one of those "kooks"

I was gone all day. I asked GuyB to keep this thread active because the problem is that a few people may have read this and then it disappears and all of a sudden the rumors start circulating about "I read this on Vital" and whatnot. So I figured it was better to leave it up for a bit.

I don't know who posted this, but it seems like it's probably someone who knows me fairly well by talking about my wife and things like that. It's really rather creepy. However, there are a couple typos in there that I wouldn't allow to go up on a site announcing my "retirement". And besides, I'm far too broke to "retire" from anything. It would be quitting, not retiring.

Anyway, not to be a jerk, but for those who have asked me at the races and via email and on the phone about why I'm not on the boards anymore, you need look no further than this. Most of the people here are really cool, but it's the kooks like this that ruin it for everyone. And if I was going to "retire", I wouldn't do it on a message board - unless, of course, I was retiring FROM a message board.

Smile

It's just too bad that whoever did this doesn't have the balls to stand up and say they did it. This is not funny, and it's not cool. Luckily, the guys at Racer X are cool enough and know me well enough that they didn't buy it. But what's most bothersome about this post is that it seems to be a genuine attempt to hurt me and my career because there's nothing in it anywhere that could lead anyone to believe it's a joke.

We'll likely never know who wrote this, but rest assured that if you ever see anything even resembling this in the future attributed to me, it's probably not me.

What a suckup you are Bobby Myers. Too bad you didn't call Nerd a COWARD like you did to WadeMC for not requesting you're wish to assasinate the President.

Why did you make a request like that anyway? Will you EVER answer that question? Everyone on here saw that and were SHOCKED.

Even for a douchebag like you that was uncalled for.

You owe all the serviceman and women out there an apology as they put their live's on the line so you can be a JACKASS on the Interweb.

I think if people could just state their opinion on any topic and then leave it alone, all the moto message boards would be a lot smarter. But in most cases, people are so competitive (yeah, it's a moto thing), they feel like they have to "win" and keep going until the other side concedes, or gives up due to exhaustion ("See? I won!")

I'm still a big fan of site members who post half as much, but say far more in the threads where they actually do post. Dougie, FTE and a few others are examples of this.

And "STFU noob" is very close to the dumbest phrase on any message board.

The only one worse? "See? I told you what would happen if you let all these noobs in here."

It will be easy for Nerd and GuyB to find out who wrote thise anyway, the IP address will lead to the location of the culprit. That could be fun.

Why do even you "industry guys" take this all so serious?

The only thing Nerd needed to say was this.

"EAD

I'm still at RX and STFU."

Someone needs to put Bobby "COCKBOBBER" Myers on the case and track down the mystery writer. He was on the manhunt in Atlanta for Unamused who owned his ass, but came up empty.....lol

LOL, nerd didn't make that list... a kook indeed on some issues, and the embodiment of "they feel like they have to "win" and keep going until the other side concedes, or gives up due to exhaustion".

I don't know if GuyB had Nerd in mind when he wrote that or not. If not, the irony is pretty funny. That said, Nerd is a good guy and is among the very best moto-journalists out there, IMO.
