Not so much a PED's question.....but more along the lines of bringing up something I've read from a couple different posters. I don't agree or believe it.....but want your opinion on it.

We know RV passed his previous tests ( have no idea about the current tests )....but I'll bet he passed them as well. Someone on here said " If RV got busted.......Monster wouldn't let WADA make it public "........." They'll sweep it under the rug ".

So.........when and how do people think that Monster has any influence over WADA? They can't.....is what I think. They are brought in as a non-bias entity correct? They simply can't be bought off or bullied.

The guys who have been saying all along that RV was dirty........and could pass any test , but if found dirty , they would sweep it under the rug?

I saw DV , RC and a couple other former factory guys say...." He's just an extremely hard working son of a bitch! "

I totally disagree with what the accusers said.....and the few guys that mentioned this......please chime in here. I'm out of here for most of the day to go ride , so I'll check this one when I get back.

Again.....sorry for another stupid PED's type thread......I just thought it was an interesting topic and wanted to see what you guys thought.

WADA only publishes results for sports where it has responsibility for results management (addressing failed tests) as well as testing. Apparently, the FIM retained responsibility for results management for its sports when it partnered with WADA.

I say that George Will makes some astute observations that could be applicable here...
“Today, for some reason … indignation is the default position of certain people in civic discourse,” he said. “They go from a standing start to fury in about 30 seconds.”

The internet has “erased the barriers of entry to public discourse,” Will said, which is good because more people can be involved in conversations, but it’s bad because a lot of those people aren’t that bright.

“Among the barriers of entry that have been reduced, is you don’t have to be able to read, write, or think,” he said. “You can just come in and shout and call names and carry on.”

I said somewhere else. It'd be a fuckin cess pit of what it has times a thousand if it was RV that got caught.

I don't buy conspiracies either. Wada is bigger than Monster.

All the PR's coming from FIM, and not directly from WADA, is consistent with this.

I too felt the forum was lacking threads on this topic. Thanks for filling that gap...

You guys are missing what FTE said, WADA does the tests and reports to FIM, not the public. It's up ti the FIM (a.k.a. Monster Energy FIM) to report what the results are...

That's fine, but he still got caught with a banned substance in his system.

Mark it, he will get suspended from at least some races and some points as a result of this.

Don't be so sure of this. It says that it can be anywhere from a reprimand to two year sanction. This decision hasn't been made yet as far as I know.

FIM and Monster aren't the same or one group...

And I would also say that if Wada issues a release to FIM or anyone for that matter, and it doesn't get published, quick smart, 99.9% verbatim, they'd very publicly denounce and pull their support of said sanctioning body...

Pilotdude is possibly the biggest RV fan on here, and he is the one who leaked the info on a Monster rider getting caught. He also was the first one to know RV was not racing outdoors, way before anyone else.

Did you read the code on that? Because it acknowledges that the governing bodies have a lot of latitude when they conduct results management, and that there isn't much WADA can do about it.

I don't disagree that in an egregious situation WADA probably would honk the horn, but it doesn't seem like a relatively benign transgression like this and the discretion the code allows to fashion a proportional penalty would provoke that here. As to what some mythical Monster sponsored rider abused and had overlooked, we're totally in the clouds of fantasy and speculation where people are backfilling whatever facts suit their arguments.

There's also a due process element of the code that requires that the athlete have a right to be heard before the A sample failure can be announced. Not sure how that played out here.
