If said rider tested positive at Seattle SX due to being in the top 3, surely the said rider was tested weeks prior at other events as all these guys have finsished on the box several times......so all the other tests came back negative....so we are looking at some one screwing up once most likely.....that shouldnt have any effect on past years wheather they tested or not....should it? Surely RV , James and Dungey have been tested numerous times during the 2014 SX season

James was sick the week previous to Seattle.

He could have got something from his doc that he did not know would screw up his test.

Or it could be something else.

We may never know.

"Talks of the infraction were rumbling through the industry no less than 5 days ago, at which point it was decidedly a punishable offense as the test had been verified to be a failed result. In my mind, the Press Release citing the facts of this infraction is being delayed because the powers that be are running scared. Trying to back pedal and somehow diminish the severity of the penalties against this rider as the penalties would absolutely adversely affect the racing series in financial terms."
Thats a pretty heavy (and excellent) opinion article on Pulp, thanks.

For some reason, I get the feeling that the rider that has tested positive is not someone new to the podium.

Will the facts ever see the light of day? Not if the accused is a major legacy star in the sport. That could lose the big sponsors if the word gets out.

Seems like the people who wanted testing didn't think about what could happen if an icon of the sport got caught.

Well considering we know which three riders were on the 450 podium at Seattle, I'd say that your prognostication about a rider familiar with the podium is spot on.

Well we all know the powers who control this will do what is best for themselves rather then what is best for the sport. As with business you should always let the free market deal with the issue. Once the government steps in to tell you how to run a business shit goes down hill fast! Reed does not want to see this swept under the carpet and he has the media power to keep attention focused on it. Good for him! We need more people in the sport willing to put themselves out there like that!

My point is that I believe it is a 450 rider, as opposed to the 250 guys. IF it was a 250 competitor, I think we would know by now, as they are not big name guys (yet).

Furthermore, I don't think it's Ryan Dungey, I believe his moral compass is pretty true.

So that leaves two in my eyes.

And this whole thing could be blown out of proportion of course, but since the information is obviously being held, Common sense leads me to believe that this incident was not about a rider innocently taking a legal medication.

It was positive test for a generic form of Adderall, which is an amphetamine. The problem is between the powers that be, on deciding whether to allow it or not since a doctor prescribed it for a mental health issue and not for whatever positive or negative physical side effects. Some are taking a stance that rules are rules, but it is a legitimate argument both ways.

Hmm, on further thought - I think even Teef underestimated the cluster%$#^ this testing thing could all bring about. The explosion potential is pretty damned huge for such a small sport depending how things play out - which is obviously why things seem to be happening slowly.

Funny, RC tweeted...
"Does this really suprise you?"

Look, I know CR hates Stewart, and RC isn't a fan either but they're kind of being sarcastic douchebags here, IMO. If it was Wilson, Tedesco or Peick...would they like that?

Weird though how silent JS7's Twitter & Facebook site are. Almost too quiet. He isn't posting ANYTHING.

Although the love affair between Reed and Stewart is well documented, I have a feeling the past few years Reed has been hinting at RV and camp as the violators.....If you think about it.... Dont think Reed cares about the guys that are not winning the titles.....Reed wasnt worried about Stewart in 2011 outdoors and thats when he really started pushing the testing thing....., 2012 SX or MX and well 2013 was just a Reed vs the CR450 year asid from that its been the RV show......

just speculating of course......

He is talking about how it is being handled, not surprised by who it is, because they don't know either.

I would think if this isn't resolved shortly then WADA will release or leak the info. They want people to know that their testing and follow through is effective just as much as the MX industry wants to cover it up.

That brings up the point that several have said before: If the rider was prescribed the medication for a legitimate reason, then they needed to have it OK'd by WADA before starting or else face the ramifications of being caught. Ignorance of the rules is not an acceptable reason to sweep this under the rug.

I have a question? Who voted these idiots in charge of this sport anyways? Did any of us get to vote for the AMA persons or any of the other people who run this sport?

RC does not have room to talk. He got cheating with his fuel & cried til they let it go. I seen JS7 post on his twitter last night

Somewhere in the mess that is the original topic on this point, GuyB said that it's not a 250 guy.

RC told them to eat a bag of dicks and kicked their asses over the fuel cluster. Reed and Stewie didn't fight it.
6/19/2014 1:19pm
If the rider was on a banned drug for medical reasons either A he should not had been racing or B he should had told the AMA as soon as he was prescribed the drug so they could decide what to do before the race. So either way the rider has no valid out in this situation. Rules should be rules unless the AMA did not make the rules clear. (Raise your hands if you think the AMA might not have made the rules clear?) lol

Actually Yamaha fought it very hard, lots of research and explanations on what happened. The AMA didn't want to hear it. The real key to the deal was DeCoster going to his buddies at the FIM (who technically overruled the AMA) and pleading their case on what was a ridiculous rule. Very smart move by Roger and Keith McCarty was furious that RC's penalty got overturned.

Maybe it is the squeaky clean nice guy. It happened with America's Hero Armstrong...

Is ANYONE REALLY SURPRISED BY THIS???????????????????????????????

This is exactly what I stated would happen in the main 40 plus page thread when I wrote that long diatribe

Nobody knows who is in charge to hand out the punishment and theyre all too scared to be the sanctioning body to step up and handle this like a professional sport would

A lot of you are calling out James but if SX is run by Monster, who in the top 3 that weekend would be the best shot at impunity??? Which rider is sponsored by Monster?

I am in no way saying I believe its him but I doubt a red bull athlete would receive preferential treatment in a Monster run world, if and only if the series is being run by a sponsor as some have suggested

Post a reply to: Sounds like no press release is going to be coming anymore?
