MX vs ATV Supercross?

And of course it starts 10 minutes before my lunch break is over.

Edit: Like MXGP, I'll wait until I get to play it before making too much of a decision. But it looks like they maybe went too far towards unleashed on some things. Maybe its just been so long since I've turned on ALIVE I don't remember the physics. but it just seems...I don't know. Off. It'll be interesting to see how the other tracks look and having someone decent play the game. Doesn't look like we'll be using the other control to lean the rider in corners like MXGP is, which to me is the worst part of that game.

No OEM, still the goofy looking lowered bikes from Alive, not a lot of body movement, and tracks are wider than a Nascar track.

I think the guy playing it made it look disappointing, no release until the third quarter, so somewhere between 1st July end of September, no actual date or price given.

Looks like a good blend of Reflex and Alive from the very basic look we got from that.

man, tough crowd. i was impressed. can't wait to race multiplayer on it. looks much better than Alive in every way. still got the rider looking over at his competition though, that's goofy.

3rd quarter release.

physics looked like a mix between Reflex and MX Unleashed.

The guy was bouncing off of everything in sight without crashing. Even landed perpendicular to the direction of travel and rode off with no repercussions.

I was hoping for some more realism this time around. Still WFO around the turns and such. Was hoping they'd take the more realistic MXGP style of slowing the game down a little bit.

So release date they are shooting for is in Q3 so July, August, or September. Looks like you can race without knocking people off which is nice. Game looks good I'm glad they listened to the fans this time around. With them adding DLC it looks like it should be fun playing online and racing. It doesnt help the guy playing it was not smooth at all so it kind of looked bad.

It didn't help that the guy playing it clearly had no idea what he was doing, but that was a major let down. I guess it's 3 more years of Reflex for this guy.

Someone post a screenshot of how goony the rider looks in the turns.

That was terrible.

MXGP may not be perfect but they are progressing a hell of a lot faster than the guys from Phoenix. Apparently they blew their wad with MCM and MCM2.

I hope this is just a way for them to get some money rounded up to start building a totally new game. Still a little cheesy for my liking. Will probably still buy this though. Always a fun time playing these when friends are over at the house.

To be fair, I thought the guy playing was doing a terrible job.

initially when I saw the MXGP game I didn't think much either, but after playing I really enjoyed it. Same with this one.

i still do like it, nice edit.

it's not perfect, but i'm also not going to rag on every little thing that i think isn't perfect.

everyone wanted an updated Reflex, that's what this looked like. i'll buy it as i'm sure everyone here will.

i will reserve judgement until i play the entire game though.

Now they have released it on E3 if they are smart they will quickly get someone who can play the game well and put out a video of someone playing it to its full potential so we can get a true understanding of what it is like.

The guy playing it on that show did them no favors at all.

Some of the comments by the host also showed there is no idea from the general public about motocross / Supercross racing at all.

Comments like is there any chance of really goofing this game and getting crazy with it after referencing road rash and pulling out a crow bar to knock your opponent off.

Please Nordic, do your self a favor and get some decent game play footage out ASAP.

Little bit disappointed on graphics, and bikes and gears, IF they are finished.
6/10/2014 2:19pm
I wonder if its still only like 12 riders? Or if they have managed to make it play a 20 man gate yet?

That was embarrassing.

It's always interesting to see the difference between the companies that know how to produce a game and announce it vs those who don't. Do you think 343 would let some fucktard who had know clue how to play Halo introduce their game and show that footage? It blows my mind that the guys over at Rainbow show the absolute shittiest rider for their gameplay release.

A few things:
1.) Have they ever seen a dirt bike being ridden, let alone ridden on themselves? How many times do you guys lean the complete opposite direction that you're turning?
2.) What happened to being released the first half of '14? Last time I checked, Q3 is the second half...
3.) Those scrubs were completely fucked. They nailed it in Reflex, and then totally screwed it up in Alive. The bike is supposed to be flat - you're not supposed to just rotate 90* on a Y axis.
4.) What does the rider bounce up? I'm all for seat bouncing, but they took the term just a touch too literally.

What a shit show...

Dude landed completely sideways on the finish line jump and didnt even crash.

Not too impressed with what I saw. Might play better than it looks though.

what I can say so far is........ the dood was probably only playing with one stick on he controller and the 30 sec, board chick is the same as alive...and it don't look completed yet as by the looks of the racers on the gate....
6/10/2014 2:22pm
I'll play it and have fun doing so, but it looks to leave a lot to be desired.

I don't know why they got back to the "bouncy physics." The jumps are way too big.

The Stewart Compount SX tracks are a good model for what I want to see.
