For those of you scratching your heads trying to figure out what the OP is saying, I believe he is talking about Southwick.

I can already feel the sand down the back of my neck....

I get the impression that it's going to be a 5 to 10 year plan to have the circuit back at Southwick. Call me pessimistic but when the subject comes up about EVERYONE wanting Southwick back, it seems like DC chimes in and defends his decision to take a Southwick hiatus.

Southwick is the one track a year that I absolutely look forward to watching. Glen Helen filled that unique track void nicely but it still isn't the same as southwick. You just can't match the sand at southwick. The circuit NEEDS a sand track and there isn't one like Southwick right now.

I said Southwick a lot.

Could always have a Canadian stop like the SX series does. Come up to Gopher Dunes and race in the sand. It's called "Canadas toughest track" for a reason. Shes smooth for the first lap. Hell after that.

Gopher would be a good stop after red bud but before Unadilla. It's only 6-7 hours from red bud. Be awesome for us Canadians to have a national. Especially since we lost the SX for next year

This doesn't mean Southwick is going to be a Pro National...............

Regardless, it's still pretty damn cool! Remember that place in California, uh Glen Helen? They used to have Nationals too

I don't think that is the immediate goal.

Bringing the track back into shape to open for some local racing and then some big events of their own for now is cool.

The future....well who knows?

That is excellent news. We need a challenging, safe track in New England.
Is it known if it will be open to the public for weekly practice when ready? Any layout changes? Maybe return to the original direction?

Regardless of whether we get Southwick back, WE NEED A SAND TRACK on the circuit.

gopher dunes is on a flat farm field not even close to a national caliber track.
