Unlike all of the other top guys, Dungey has raced every race since going to the 450 class (besides the couple he missed with his shoulder). The other guys have had time off and even missed entire series with injury. RD has raced MX, SX, MXDN and Monster Cup every year. Maybe he wants a couple months off. I doubt it has anything to do with his sub-par performance last year.

Even a diesel needs to be shut down when it needs to do maintenance.

Is the MXDN really in Latvia? Who would want to have anything to do with that shithole?

Newmann, that is just plain wrong.....back to the topic. Dungey can't go forever. He has more than done his part and put up with a lot of shit along the way. I'm sure it looks real attractive to take some time off after the nationals are over on August 23rd rather than keep the hammer down for another month and face the pressure once again of winning or getting shit on. Plenty of talent to choose from.

You've visited Kegums often?

edit: I seem to have taken the bait even though I'm not from Latvia.

Lol. Where the eff is Kongols when you feel like getting someone going?

In all honesty, I've enjoyed the diversity of tracks that are run on the GP circuit. It's really cool that they're airing the GP's here in the states.

As for Dungey, I'm not about to judge a dude that has his record with the quantity and quality in which he's raced. I'm always in favor of a rider to do what they need to do to keep their mind and body in the game. It's fun watching RV ride like he does but if everyone got burnt out by his age, the competition would have a huge turnover.

The Good News? The last-time we sent a so-called "B-Team"? We did pretty damn good!

Me? I'd send Shorty, Peick & Anderson: The NFG Team

This is your black list...

Zach Osborne
Jimmy Albertson
Tommy Weeck
Alex Martin
Phil Nicoletti

Thing is though, if you're given the opportunity to go overseas and race the MXdN, you're probably going to take it. You can't blame them, especially if they're riders who may not otherwise get the chance.

They should send diff riders each year.

Its not about winning ever year ,we did that, let other guys experience the experience.

I'm over the MXdN.

Our riders have been racing non-stop since January and have been preparing to race for months before that. Our riders have been "representing their country" at tracks across the US for 3/4 of the year already.

The race is a trap for tUSA and I really think that there is nothing to prove. It's a lose-lose situation.

I would have done the Puerto Rico thing under the right circumstances but honestly for me, I was already way too busy with off season SX preparation to be ready for that event. So I guess that's a yes and no.

No and I don't think so. He is very proud of his Australian heritage and history with that team.

C'mon JT, you answer a lot of questions on here or the RacerX podcast show with "a yes and no". Get off the fence and pick one man!

I believe he is saying in theory, yes he would do it. As a practical matter, no he wouldn't because it would interfere with that which puts food on his table.

Uh-oh. You just made his list.

uk12etc., I think you're overreacting a bit, but I guess I can see it your way if I look at it from this angle:

If I were a small, underrepresented nation, how in the large fuck would having athletes from other nations competing under my flag be any sort of consolation, or, if they won, be anything to celebrate? From their viewpoint I would think it would look totally bullshitty and exploitative.

But from the rider's perspective---it's not war, it's just a cool event, and probably a once-in-a experience for some of them, even if it's a different experience than riding for your own country. If PR don't mind, I don't know why we should.

Just a point here, PR is technically a "U.S. Territory"........

Maybe Dungey is more worried about developing the new bike than going to MXdN. Think about it..... SX/MX Champion > MXdN Champion.....
