Yup! They will be streamed live.
Are you sure? I've seen nothing to indicate this for Glen Helen and never known of NBC to do this on that app.

@AZ35: i am in the same boat (Charter Cable) but i use a login from a friends verified provider and it works just fine. Cool
So who wants to be my online friend? Laughing

(this offer only applies to people with valid NBC sports login, which are willing to share it!)

Not regretting switching to DirecTV last year. I get MAVTV on channel 214.

I was very disappointed until I found out that you can now stream NBCSN with directv as your provider. Ill kick back in my computer chair and watch every moto. My wife and kids will be happy that I am not tieing up the t.v.

What the hell is MAVTV? Looks like I'll be watching all the first motos online as I have no interest in supporting this channel
MavTV has more racing than all other channels combined, as well as being owned by Lucas Oil (you know who they are right?)

I swear to god this place has more negative (and stupid) people than all the other forums I've ever been on combined.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Its bullshit! A major professional racing series not being shown on a major tv network. If MX Sports is still having to pay to have coverage, then why go with someone like MAV TV that isn't supported by all the major cable providers??? (MAV TV owned by Lucas Oil btw) I understand that the NBC live app will be cool and carry a lot of coverage from a pre-race show to qualifying to the motos. But...what about those people that actually ride or race on the wknd? Most of the areas that tracks are in don't have wifi and you can't DVR the live app coverage. Where do I send a resume to do the negotiations for the television package???

If your first statement is true, then why isnt MAV Tv supported by all the major cable networks?

I guess you missed the part that said all the rounds will be archived and available to watch at any time online.

Yep I did! Thanks 426Hemi!

I still say that this series should be on a major network though. Maybe I'm biased!

It might be a major pro racing series to some people but in the grand scheme of sports, it's really not. Hard for a major channel to commit 4+ hours every Saturday to a sport that's pretty irrelevant .

WOW...a sport thats irrelevant huh!?! You do realize that this a MX forum don't you. ESPN has blocked off 8+ hours for college softball for Saturday. Do you really think that there would be more people watch the 8+ hours of college softball than the 4 hours of MX??? Not very likely.

Or a freakin spelling bee, or reruns of playoff games, wtf, its 2014 is it really that hard to find a slot or channel to have 4 motos live each round, if you want this sport mainstream this issue needs resolved. If not it will be bush league tv coverage. these are best riders in the world, not some country fair race.

Dish network and direct tv are available nationwide. Why is it such a problem for people to just get one of those for there cable options. If you want to watch it that bad and are that into the sport you think people would just switch providers.

I'm not thrilled with the idea of paying around $900+ to what [or not watch] the crap on TV. 99% of it has zero appeal to me.

I would pay for a live stream though.

Awwww hell, I have Charter also. I've been thinking all this time that I'd be able to stream it. Crap. Oh well, as of June 3, Charter will have MavTV HD as part of their lineup.

Hm, so choosing not to shell out $XX to get this one channel makes me stupid? I do not watch TV all day, why should I care what other programs they show? But hey, since it's owned by LUCAS OIL then I must find a way to get that channel! They're like the coolest company in the whole world!!! But hey, go ahead man, if criticizing myself and others on this forum makes you feel cool then that's fine with me! Smile

Man if you honestly believe that, you are way out of touch with reality.

There are a lot less people that watch MX compared to SX on tv. Not a stretch but I would say close to 50% drop off in viewers from SX to MX.

Supercross has dropped in viewers the last two years, so that would lead one to believe, MX would have dropped as well.

In 2013 the average amount of people that watched SX was 329,000. A very very small number compared to lets say the 13 million the NFL gets on an average weekend.

Mens soccer had a Nielsen rating of 0.5 in 2013, Womens softball had a Nielsen rating of 0.7 in 2013.

Live Supecross had a rating of 0.24.

The tape delayed supercrosses in 2013 had more viewers than the live races did. Big shocker right. Since everyone wants to watch it live (supposedly)

So I can log into the NBC sports app with my DirecTV login and watch practice, the prerace show, the first 450 Moto, the first 250 Moto, the second 450 Moto, and the second 250 Moto. All live!

So that's 6 1/2 hours of live coverage of the opening round of the motocross season. Kick ass!

Numbers.

That's what a Provider and a Network are looking for.

Sadly, MX and SX dont give them what they are looking for.

It does. But I do think the DC and MX Sports is doing just about everything they can to get a good package and this is what we are going to get for this year.

For selfish reasons I would love to have every moto live, but I am glad that I can watch the races live and tape delayed all in the same weekend.

I hope that we will get every moto live in the next year or two with MAVtv. They seem to be big on motorcycle stuff and motorsports in general so it looks good for the future.

I would some could explain why there is no live streaming pay for view in the USA? [except for the fact that cable providers want to tie me into a yearly bill]

Wouldn't that help "grow the sport" by making it available to as many people as possible?
